Lunch time Friday in the UK. Newgate is 25/1 (4 places e/w) and Next is 28/1 (4pl e/w), makes me think I should have a bet on value alone. Already done Arthur's Ride 25/1 (4pl) in an e/w double with Post Time 14/1 in the final race. Thanks

All this Next love will keep his price around 10-1, I think Next sit behind the pace of Arthur Ride Newgate, Highland Falls Fireceness and Mixto siting 6th or 7th then Next pounces

I'm going $50 Highland Falls to win. $50 Arthur's Ride to place. Or vice versa. That's where I see value. Prediction: Arthurs Ride will go off at 9-1, Highland Falls at 12-1. If all horses were 10-1 I'd bet Fierceness. But he'll be closer to 2-1. Sierra Leone has ran better every time out. Can he improve again? I say no....but if he does.... he's got a great chance to win. Lots of good horses in this race. A guy has gotta throw some out. One I'll toss, is City Of Troy. ADDITION: Next has won 7 in a row and has won by ridiculous margins. Just watched some of his races. In a 1 3/8 race, he ran 1 1/4 in 2.01 and change, and ran the last 1/8 mile in just over 12 seconds. Yikes. That's a heckuva final 1/8 after going 1 1/4 in decent time. He suddenly got interesting for me. 6 years old....owners keeping him in the game. Love it. I suddenly find myself rooting for Next. Wow, what a race this is gonna be! So hard to handicap!!!!

@@Lpm920 just out of interest, what is the difference between betting to place and betting to show? The show bet I never seen in the UK. We have enhanced places bookmakers offer. So all the races at Del Mar over 8 runners will have 4 e/w places and a couple are 5 e/w places (over 15 runners). If taken prior to the off you may lose some juice. Like Next is 33/1 generally 3pl, but best price 28's 4pl. So place bets become good value when put in multiples, especially if your getting 4 places in 8,9 runner fields.
