I skipped around, hoping to see if you tested the sleep function of the Miyoo flip. I was hoping to see if it only turns the screen off, or if it puts the system into a suspend / sleep mode. Like doing a jump or an action, then quickly closing the screen, then after a like 15 seconds, open it back up, and see if the game paused. That functionality is super important for what I would like to use this device for ( Taking it to work, playing during down times, Then closing it as soon as I have to do something ). I'm not sure if I missed you testing it or not, as it's a 3 hour VOD.

I was just about to buy an RG35XX SP when I saw an article about the Flip coming soon. Even if the sticks are a little jank, as long as they work well enough for N64 / Dreamcast / PS1 emulation, then I'm sold. That's already a direct upgrade to the total usability compared to the RG35XX SP. I have so much nostalgia for the SP form factor, I love the identical size to the original. Here's hoping for some good custom firmware soon. Very excited for the review whenever that comes out! 🍻

Personally I like the Anbernic SP. The flip is cool but I actually like the heft and bigger size of the Anbernic SP more, plus I love my Muos.

Aesthetic wise I prefer the SP. The Select and Start labels, buttons on the Flip are a little off and too close to the sticks. Not as perfectly aligned and spaced like the SP. I also prefer the slightly larger, roomier, chunkier size of the SP. Currently price wise not as competitive as SP. But I guess the smaller slim factor gives a more complete GBA experience than SP.

thickness and clickier buttons aside, the RG35XXSP does a better job as a nostalgia gba sp machine than the miyoo flip in my opinion, I prefer the anbernic devices overall.

For anyone else out there interested in buying a Flip, I got mine a week ago. I love it. This review is just an opinion. Yeah, the software isn't really good, neither was the XXSP until it got custom firmware, and Miyoo's software is usually a mess anyway on release. But here's this guy 90% condemning this device because of the software when he ended up loving the Miyoo Mini because of custom firmware. I disagree with this review. The buttons are far better on the Flip than on the XXSP, I don't have an issue with the sticks, Flip is smaller and more pocketable. Hinge is great on both. I have both and love both, but would choose the Flip based on the hardware.This review just sounds kind of weird to me. Pretty much sounds like an Anbernic commercial. Maybe wait on the Flip until the custom firmware is done. The XXSP is a good device made great with custom firmware. The Flip, in my opinion, is already a great device that will be even better with custom firmware. Don't sell it short

@sabd9694 Yeah, that's how it came across. He said near the beginning of the video 'it's a clear choice' to buy an XXSP based on the GBA On Screen Overlay on the Flip.This is a temporary setting. Everyone in the community knows this will be fixed with custom firmware like usual. I unsubscribed.

To me the miyoo flip looks better than the rg35xxsp in every way except for software. more powerfull, smaller, Thumbsticks and imo the grey one looks better to. it just needs custom firmware and the price will probably go down.

I was thinking so, but unfortunately the vast majority of people I've talked to who got preview units said the same thing as Bob, the sticks feel terrible. I'd rather have no sticks than bad ones. The other issue is how long will we have to wait until we get a good custom firmware that supports bluetooth, and at that point, what else will then be out that is better than this?

Flip looks stellar but the 34xx just doesn't look good to me. I'm actually surprised so many people love it. I hope we get that display in something else.

Because of many obvious factors? Aesthetically the select and start buttons/labels are kinda too close to the thumbsticks (makes it look cheap), different model colors have different touch textures, mixed reviews on the sticks, price too expensive for its design/quality, more good OS compatible with SP, and personally I prefer the thicker, roomier version of the SP for more comfy grip. Otherwise Flip looks more identical to the GBA if thats your priority.

the contra test is a horrible way to gauge a dpad, the rg34xx dpad is perfectly fine, just as good if not better than any other XX device and the miyoo mini plus
