Everyone in here for PS5 Pro take, and I'm sitting in disbelief they've missed out on arguably the most significant Godzilla film since the very first in 1954. I'm with Kenny. As a parent, it will attack you on that level.

I got the console because I generally play on quality modes. With the push in frames while in quality, I get to keep my standard preference and get better movement with no sacrifices. It literally provides the shine on a brand new car for me. While some might argue its not a good investment now... me playing some of the games I love on the Pro just makes it that much more enjoyable. With my work schedule and backlog... I have plenty of games to play so overall I'm happy with it.

I've seen too many reactionary takes about this console, i dont know why people get so mad about it, it feels like people are coping honestly. It will be the best place to play on console for the next ~4 years until PS6. There already are games running at better than Base Fidelity IQ at double the framerate, thats more than 100% upgrade for a 55% increase in cost. Would people get so defensive of someone buying a GPU upgrade for their PC that gave that kind of improvement? Not to mention the extra 1 TB of SSD.

I dont agree with their take that the PS6 is going to have even less of a difference with PS5. If anything i think the jump has potential to be way bigger if they manage to put really good RT hardware in it and with next versions of PSSR, maybe even some neural rendering. If they manage to make Pathtracing common on next gen then the difference will be huge. They keep asking themselves "how are games going to look even better than this?" Pathtracing, thats the answer. You don't necesarily need better 3d models or assets, having a console strong enough to run these kind of games with Full Pathtracing would be a huge difference.

hmm i agree mostly. i do think you pushed spiderman and horizon aside. spiderman now has 60fps and raytracing on every building...thats pretty significant i'd say. but yeah..rebirth shows biggest improvement.

I agree with the doods. Frame Rate, Resolution and sharpness is better. But many games are all remasters or remakes. Rarely any original PS5 IP games.

One reason I got the PS5 Pro is that I wanted to play games at their best version on console and after seeing people die in my life suddenly over the last decade I don’t want to waste time doing what I enjoy. The console is more than worth it for current and old games that had frame/resolution/anti-aliasing issues.

They can't stream games with HDR on. It will make the image completely desaturated for us and blind us. If they were playing games outside of streaming they might turn HDR on.

Yeah, its understandable since they are streaming but its a shame about the HFR modes specially, they are leaving a bunch of performance on the table. So games with those modes not only can look better than base, they can run better at the same time. They did not get to see that sadly.

Agreed, Stellar Blade is a game that favors HDR. It already looks phenomenal on my LG C4 though, I'm more into whatever is going on with Rebirth.

Refresh system does not NEEDS and exclusive game. Like that is not the point of the system. Ps4 Pro did not have game exclusive to the system all it did was announced a new game that was coming out around it release window that was still playable on the original hardware all it did was look better. Remember when 3DS tried that with the New 3DS people were not happy that a refresh system was having exclusive game to it. Should there been a new game coming out during around it release window, sure. Was it going to be exclusive. Yeah no. They still cater to the fucking PS4 install base why the hell you think they do something like make an exclusive game to force people to get the system? Lmao

Games scale and you can run high spec gpu games on a PS4 Pro equivalent hardware if the res and performance is scaled back enough. I always see it as a weird argument just because a game is on a PS4.

You do and it's definitely an improvement over 2018 but it's still not as good as it could be because of some design decisions. Like the new shields for instance that are supposed to make it fresh are all just worse than the basic bitch ass shield because the game was designed with that first in mind. It's the whole dmc5 nero problem where his breakable arms are like an after thought on the core game and just suck as a result.
