I had no experience painting and 2 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I started painting right after I was finished with treatments and I painted horrible but the more I painted I got better. It calms me down and keeps my mind off of things so I know what you're talking about. Keep painting!

I just discovered your videos today. Wow. I retired three years ago and have been painting off and on. I had a servere heart attack last February and now just am beginning to getting back to painting. I find it very relaxing. I do paint in acrylic and oil but found oil so messy with the thinner and trying to clean bushes, but have since discovered baby oil and shop towels for clean up. They work wonderfully. So Now I can get some series painting done. Please keep doing your videos. I learn slot from them. Your are great at what you do. You do not talk to much. That is just part of who you are and I for one appreciate it very much.

Just happened upon your video 4 minutes before you began. Watched your entire process. You are a brilliant painter Justin! This is a talent that remained dormant within you until such a time in your life that you took a higher road and found a new purpose--Bob Ross was a great man who inspired so many to turn over a new leaf, find beauty in all things and love life. Now, you're doing the same. May God's richest blessings carry you to new destinations. Thank you for sharing your talent Justin. This very painting you just created will greatly improve any wall space it is placed upon--a very lucky wall. Keep painting and keep spreading joy and hope through your amazing talent. The world needs more Justin's like you. ✌☯️🎨

I’ve tried multiple time, I really don’t know if I’m blending to soon. I am using oil paint with just a little dip of oil. I do some nice work blending two colors but I was all over the place here 😂. This is part of my coping skills and I love it. It seriously releases stress and sadness. It makes me happy, it takes me somewhere else. The ocean and sky is what I love to do one day I’ll master it. Thank you for this tutorial it’s absolutely beautiful! Very talented blessings always

You are so right that in each painting there comes a point when you feel that something’s not okay, something’s wrong or something’s not convincing. But you know you will overcome the stage if you continue with what you are doing. One has to just hang in there, wait for the stage to pass, and you will see the end result is good.

This has become my go to oil painting channel for seascapes fantastic Art Justin. I wish to paint my son a house moving gift (seascape) would I be able to copy one of your great paintings New Artist never done a oil painting before. I use to be a photograph (weddings) but loved the sea and long walks in the woods but sadly I have become house bound and disabled so I can't do this any more hence to move to painting. Wow, spectacular! 💖 Just discovered your channel and def a new sub. I've watched hundreds of videos in my quest to learn and you are one of two artists I'm now following as virtual mentors. While you both have very different techniques and styles, you both are tremendously talented and great teachers with much to offer anyone interested in learning. I plan to attempt this sky and wave. I tried a liner brush with my first wave and it's pretty sad - I hate the liner - love how you used the fan for so much more than typical uses.Thank you for taking the time to make these tutorials. Don't ever underestimate yourself, you are truly blessed with a natural talent. Own it and be proud. 👊💖

I know this is an older video but I wanted to comment. The first thing that caught my eye was the clouds. My birthday is May 27th as well :) I love your no-bullshit, no-bones attitude. I love that you open up about what painting did for you. I have a long history full of stuff I haven't been able to get out for years. I'm hoping painting will be my saving grace like it was yours. I've wanted to get the stuff out of me for years and I haven't been able to put it on paper in writing. The little painting I have done has shown me I get a release from it. I'm hoping to paint out the pain. I'm hoping to help others through it as well. I'm an actress, singer, writer, and a lot of other bs stuff that really doesn't matter because none of that helps anyone else. Obviously, it hasn't brought the relief I need either. I've just recently taken an interest in painting and you have been an encouragement. You are fast so I really have to watch and listen but most of what I don't catch from one video I see in another one you have posted. Not being critical at all. You're just good and know what you are doing... I'm not and haven't even got started yet so it's going to be slow at first. I've been watching for some clouds that are a little darker... sort of angry but not too much. I have a vision of what I need to paint. These are beautiful. I could write a song around this one painting using the clouds. I can't wait to try to paint these. Thank you for these amazing tutorials you put up. You are pretty special because you are so transparent. In a world full of fake ass people it's nice to find someone who isn't. You give people like me the courage to try something even if it's a mess. Kinda like my life has been over the years. You can take what looks like a mess to someone else and turn it into something amazing. I want to be able to do that. I think you have shown people no matter how cracked and broken you are you can make ashes into beauty. Thanks Justin.
