This song has made me cry several times... I lost my husband in Afghanistan in 2009. But it has helped heal me as well, on my bad days I listen to it until I can listen without crying and in some way I feel I have overcome something. I pray every day that my other widows(ers) find the strength to push forward not only for them but for their children and the memory of their loved one and for all those still over there fighting that they make it home safe so no other has to go through this pain...

My son is in Afghanistan a Marine he learned to play it and sing it... i love this song... I listen to it as much as possible.... it reminds me of him... and him sitting at my bar before he joined the Marines and he said mom listen to his song.... he played it for me and sang it... i was in tears at the beginning of this son thank you Tyler for writing it beautiful song.... has many different meanings for different people

My boyfriend and I were dating for 4 years, and he just recently joined the army. We decided to get married right after he did basic and AIT. Then he went to do his first tour overseas the day after. Its been 7 months since I've seen him and this brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful song. Thank you.

You know its funny I wrote the dam thing and I am so used to playing it. I am a Marine grunt that lost many good friends in Ramadi in 2006, everytime I hear this song I think about one brother in particular that was KIA and his wife and cant help but to tear up. RIP all of the fallen Marines, Soldiers, Sailors. and Airman that have been KIA while conducting ops in OIF and OEF....God Bless you and your families.....
