The lady who called the cops (Jen) is clearly a great person and definitely did the right thing by putting up a firm boundary against the abusive situation. Situations like that tend to infect everyone involved, and letting it slide just enables the problems to get worse. Good for her for standing her ground.

"Can you carry this for me?" "No, ma'am." She didn't say the magic word, "Please." Also, not their job. Her tone when she asked, though, was just pure entitlement, of the "I expect you to help carry my stuff. I shouldn't even have to ask" variety.
@Crazycatlady712 жыл бұрын
That's how I feel. Homeless battered woman had someone take her in, the homeless woman turns on her and verbally abuses her. Then has the audacity to ask LEO to carry a bag for her. The entitlement is strong for someone that is homeless and doesn't appreciate or respect the person that tried to help her. No empathy for her at all.
@jbazile68735 жыл бұрын
It's no use trying to care for a woman who stays with an abusive man. You just end up getting caught in the middle, and she'll always take his side. Sad.
@futuredoc20145 жыл бұрын
JJ Bazile Social work student here, thats actually when abuse survivors need the most support from friends and family. research shows that it takes on average 9 attempts at leaving an abusive relationship before it successful. Leaving an abuser is hard because they have psychologically manipulated the survivor to feel dependent on the abuser and to easily forgive them. Leaving an abuser is also the most dangerous time for survivors.

3:26 is exactly why you never help those type of people. You could support them for years and as soon as you reach a breaking point, you're the terrible person that is being unreasonable. It's a shame. I've dealt with it myself in the past. Don't think I've ever heard a positive outcome to someone letting a person stay with them because they have no where else to go. If they have nowhere else to go as an adult, there is usually a good reason for it.
