I am so happy to have you join me today for "GIVING THANKS: A Concert to Share Gifts of the Heart and the Land." Each of the compositions presented within this afternoon's concert relate in a large way to the theme of gratitude and love. What a privilege to share the music of Joaquin Rodrigo, Benjamin Britten, and John Corigliano with you. This music is fascinating and rare, and tugs at the heart. But after we are done performing for the camera, we knit the individual performances together in a timeline to omit extra time in between the pieces (before we air them). Otherwise there would be a lot of down time during the broadcasts as we reset the stage for each piece.
