I’m glad you’re prioritizing each other. The world is 24/7 nonstop like 24 hour news. It’s important to stop and enjoy yourself periodically too. Go off grid and do self care. Simple pleasures, quiet moments are everything.

Had a quick question, what is your opinion on someone donating their body to a medical school. I had always been an organ donor, but after being diagnosed with stage four melanoma and during the same exam thyroid cancer, I knew that was off the table so I decided to donate my body to science. For a little background history, I was born legally blind, but I’ve never let that stop me from doing what I want it. I enjoyed the outdoors hunting fishing, horseback riding, and I had a career of 30 years and the fire service, no, I did not drive fire trucks but a lot of fireman said they’d rather go inside a structure fire with me than most of the firemen cause it’s like I had a six sense. Being born legally blind, and now diagnosed with stage four melanoma and thyroid cancer is what led me to this decision, I feel like if I can help one small child that’s born legally blind it will all be worth it. The program I am signed up with does the removal inmates contact with several schools to find out who needs a body the worst at that time and it is delivered at no cost to the family and then when they are finished, it will be cremated and mailed to the family member designated and then follow year. They will have a memorial service and dinner in honor of all that will cremate the year beforefamily and friends attend. Just wanted to get your thoughts and opinion on this program.

Hi Kari. I live in Ohio and my mom tells me she wants to have a viewing “embalmed” with cremation after like my dad. She has nothing paid on it, do I need her permission to have immediate family hour viewing with cremation instead to save on money? Can’t see paying that kind of money.

I know each case is different and each body has different compositions, etc, but what would you say would be “typically” when an embalmed body would begin to decompose rapidly. I.e. If we dig Grandma up after a month, and she was embalmed, would she be significantly different than when she was buried or does this change not typically happen for weeks or months?

My mother & I inquired at a local funeral home here in Florida about the costs of having bodies shipped from Florida to Ohio for burial because we own cemetery plots in Ohio & they said the current price is around 6 grand to ship a body so I was wondering if that's a fair price or are they overcharging?

Flying a body is not cheap. It would be cheaper to fly out to Ohio and die there tbh.

Dental Gold: Most are gold crowns/caps and 16K gold (67.6%) $50-70 at best. Pure gold 24K is too soft for teeth.

I can’t think of his channel’s name. It’s Millennial something. All he does is go into old cemeteries and restore the monuments that have fallen over and are broken or clean them. You might be interested Kari. I know his channel name. Maybe someone can help here.

As many times as I've heard you talk about gold teeth, I still can't imagine people wanting them. No offense to those who may need what they think of as extra money, but it seems kind of gruesome and disrespectful.
