The second thing I noticed was that he appeared to feel that his Hospitality had been seriously abused. Righteous indignation. The third thing I noticed was that he was really disturbed about being associated with DB and accused of being in cahoots with him... The judge did not tell Brooks he had to give an exact order of witnesses. She told him to group them by First Day, morning; First Day, afternoon; Second Day, morning; Second Day, afternoon, etc. That was only reasonable, both for the witness' sake, plus the fact that the state has to be the ones contacting them. Most people who have jobs and families can't sit at a courthouse for days on end, and that's absolutely inconsiderate of any lawyer to expect that of them. But Brooks even refused to do that (give in groups) until the judge said the DA said she "wouldn't have to call them" if he didnt.

at 38:40 The question about handing your cellphone or opening up homes to a stranger. The guy did the most Midwestern thing: Warm them up then feed them (seriously food is non-negotiable). Wisconsinites never really give it a second thought. We often go a little over board with generosity and hospitality to those in need, and with how bad winter gets here helping complete strangers no questions asked is just second nature. If it was any other day or any other person I can say 100% that guy would have not have asked for his coat back. It wasnt until the situation seemed off with the sirens that the home owner started putting up his defenses in his mind. As for the home owner I saw nothing wrong selling HIS footage. Not a lot happens here in WI and Waukesha only has 73k pop so that kinda big news in quiet town. He'll get his time in the limelight then itll just shrink down to a "remember when" then turns into a small fun fact down at the bar years later about the guy.

He's such a bad liar. First of all, of course his prior counsel informed him of the plea offer. They're required to go to him with any offer, and they did not deviate from that ethical obligation somehow to intentionally avoid notifying him of a plea offer extended. No appellate court or bar association would ever believe him that they didn't tell him, especially when he has ripped up court orders and other documents on camera and then lied repeatedly about not ever recieving the documents. He's thrown away documents and then lied and said he never recieved them. He's refused to accept documents served upon him while in his cell and then lied about recieving them. If he said prior counsel never brought a plea offer to him and they said they did, it would be over and no one would believe him. He's shown himself to be an absolute shameless and degenerate liar over and over throughout the trial, and his word would hold zero credibility with any higher court. My guess is that prior counsel, knowing what an absolute a** and complete reprobate he is, saw those types of issues coming from a mile away and made notes as to when, exectly, they notified him of the plea offer. Contemporaneous records from an attorney would be all any bar association or higher court would need.

Hey just found you recently. Appreciate the coverage and education. You mentioned today how slow Brooks is going...yes....he is hearing the clock, tick, tick, tick....he knows his time is almost up. Prosecution will rest this week. He will get more annoying, slower to respond, and more interruptions as the time draws closer to his end. He will be more dramatic and I anticipate many more antics....anything to delay. Tomorrow he calls his first witness....it will be painful, I'm certain.

You know you fucked your life up when your plea deal is 6 life sentences plus some other jail time
@SuperKingtoy2 жыл бұрын
That's what I don't understand. If there's no parole, one life sentence is all anyone can give. That's why I think the court is almost being mocked because the most they can impose isn't enough for monsters like this.

Which is why the height and weight ‘descriptions’ are approximate. Brooks is just being ridiculous
@jeremyyoung13862 жыл бұрын
His objection to the use of the name Brooks is that in the court filings it is written BROOKS. His argument is based, essentially, on winning an internet argument.

Building the case: Perfect timing! I just went back and watched the District Attorney's opening statements... I had miss it and watching helped me understand where they were going. And of course your commentary helps me even more.

Missed the live today, but I am re-watching now (past midnite). Well worth it!!

How often do you ask witnesses if they ordered the code red or what sort of grits they were making for breakfast?

Once again thank you. I simply CAN NOT waste another day watching this insanity. Made me literally sick last week and I'm just recovering. So hard to look away though. THIS commentary and summary is the ONLY sane way to watch.

Was that an actual driver's license or just an I'd card? I thought I saw printed that it's not a valid driver's license. Was he driving with out a license?

I thought it was just an ID, not actual license?

He had no defence so he would never have testified. I also don’t think he was dumb. He is calculated and sneaky.

The plea was exactly as I thought they should offer. We charge you for the murders 6 consecutive life sentences, but hey we drop the other charges. 😂.we drop the reckless endangerment for the non injured people. How tempting. At least we learned that he is a murderer but not a thief. Gotta say what Natalie had guessed about his reaction to the judge being nice to him has been proven. He was so touched that that one guy was so kind. Letting him in giving him a sandwich and a jacket. I felt bad for him. Than I remembered. He's got an ex gf who kept coming back to him. She must have been nice to him. He called mamma who was worried about him He had people who were nice to him
@justincraig3982 жыл бұрын
True, and he probably would have had more people in his life that were nice to him if he wasn’t such a narcissist and scumbag.

You forgot the part where he threw them under the bus at every opportunity. Look how he treated the sandwich guy on the stand. brooks is evil, he just is.

We have too many homeless people here in ca that aren’t taking their meds for their issues and are unstable in the neighborhood so I would not let a stranger in sadly Lots of robberies these days I wish there was more support for the homeless as well as those w mental health issues

And please stop giving him credit for the public defender's notes that he's reading off. He didn't do any of that. He's simply reading off their notes. You can tell when he runs out of their questions. Don't give him credit. He doesn't deserve it, and "he doesn't consent to being called that name!" 🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

Just watched mothers interview. She was subpoened but it has been withdrawn. My guess is because mom thinks he was out of his mind and didn't know what he was doing and says he doesn't remember. She also thinks he should get help instead of being sent to prison.

17:07 DB was definitely messing with the wrong witness there. I totally missed the driver's license angle and just looked up what is height and weight was... LOL, the guy was spot on.

Peter, can the state show the pictures of all the injured and dead, just to state who the injured party were?
@SJC492 жыл бұрын
That would be particularly inappropriate and cause further distress to the families. It was distressing enough when the coroners published their autopsy diagrams and descriptions of the injuries causing the 6 deaths.
@windywednesday41662 жыл бұрын
I think it could be done Tastefully and Respectfully. Possibly in the closing they can use a map and call out all the names. I think it would be very respectful to have the names of every single person that was hit read out for the record.
