Had a whole firetruck come to my house at 3am when all my smoke detectors died at once where they have a high pitched chirp till u change the battery. Only had 1 battery so we called the non emergency asking for assistance for replacing batteries nothing was open. They said they'd send someone over we thought it would only be 1 guy in a car nope 3 guys in the fire truck show up to help fix smoke detectors.

That poor sweet elderly couple I sure hope they have some children or someone to help take care of them that poor little lady she seems so scared and confused what is she ever going to do if she is supposed to take care of her husband if he has had a stroke or something. With due respect, I think at a certain age, we should all have to take the driver's test. I was in the medical field for 40+ yrs, and when I worked the ER, the majority of fatalities were caused by innocent senior citizens.......smh
@mattmax11
@mattmax11 4 жыл бұрын
Personally i think they should make the senior do an actual driving test instead of a written test. That way they can get a better visual of how they are. If they fail that test they should not be allowed to drive. But if they pass they can keep driving.

@@justgearheadstuff2718 My mom passed at 83 in Ontario And was sharp as a tack She never liked the highway But drove on it in her earlier years Always nervous of big rigs beside her She would slow down or speed up to pass them By the time she was 66 she avoided Highways And would use Main roads (up to 80km/hr) to get by a chain of citys to see her older sister and do shopping for her etc when she could as the sister had kids out of town to do it mostly by 69 She was no longer on any roads faster then 60kms And stayed to local areas to do her own shopping And check ups (doctor app etc ) And would take a cab or bus if she needed to be further And refused night driving. At 70 she hung up her keys And said thats it i been driving 50 years And not even a seat belt ticket Heaven forbid i kill someone because i forget to stop at a red light...And she was right Just think you have a kid speeding in traffic And a old lady heavy on the brake slower then the limit And sees a gap to merge over to I seen it happen many times in the mangled cars at the scrap yard i worked at Some you didnt even want to go near from the blood stains And smell

I believe the gentlemen was having a stroke or diabetic episode. As for the lady I believe she is suffering from something like dementia or something that is causing mental impairment. She was very confused, having a hard time taking in information, and could not answer questions coherently. There is something not right with her. They are much too old to be left alone. They need a care taker to at least take them out to run errands and go to appointments. They are going to get themselves hurt.

@jill4806
@jill4806 4 жыл бұрын
It does seem like the gentleman was having a medical issue. But the woman was probably just extremely nervous, upset about her husband, and the sense of being overwhelmed by the situation. And for the people who don't know about the expenses of having a caretaker, it is so very very expensive. having someone just drive you to a doctor appointment, to the grocery store, or having them help you with daily activities in your home, can become an expense that can actually bankrupt someone. When you are a senior citizen, and you're already living on a fixed income, trying to add the expense of a caretaker into your budget is almost impossible. I don't know what the answer is, but the senior citizens of the world deserve better treatment than they receive now.

@@Desert10075 I agree, but a lot of the calls that police officers responded to are mental health cases, domestic calls, petty crime. I don’t think there is a need for a gun on many of those scenes, I think if we create a new line of officers that have more mental health training, that don’t carry guns only non lethal, and that go out with sympathy in mind and not crime. I think this would go ways to decrease accidental shootings and ptsd among officers due to those shootings. Look to the London police for reference on how this could work.

Fire apparatus always show up. Ladder trucks are equipped with rescue equipment and can also secure a gourney into the rear (Some of them). So they are often use as the responder for medical calls. More calls the ladder truck has, the more likely they are to get more funding. (Oh it was such a good idea getting the million dollar truck) Volley departments if single guy shows up in a POV. Dept doesn't get paid. They have to bring the truck even for service calls to get the numbers up, more money/ funding.

My heart 🥺💙. I don’t mean this in no disrespect, the elderly shouldn’t be allowed to drive at a certain age.. and I only say this for their safety god forbid something happens to them :{ bless this couple. Cop, fire fighters, emts Thankyou for being there.

I’m pretty sure all firefighters are certified medics or something along those lines

The majority of paramedics are also firefighters. The TV series Emergency episode "Equipment" brought the need for fire trucks to carry paramedic equipment back in the 1970s.
