Mr Waters you hit it home and I hope and pray he is found guilty so Maggie and Paul have justice. He lied so much but to lie he wasn’t there is beyond my comprehension to know it could be so crucial to the investigation of you wife and very own son. Saying he didn’t trust Sled is one thing but that lie started on the 911 call and I can’t even fathom that coming into play when stumbling on such a horrific crime of your loved on bc of distrust. Going to the kennels without his truck and phone was so he couldn’t be tracked. He thought this out and killed them. Lied about this just as easy as it was to lie to coworkers, friends and clients.

He killed his biological son and his wife, the mother of his children because his empire was collapsing. He killed their house nanny for insurance fraud. His family probably had enough and was probably ready to confess or leave him but he couldn’t. He knew if his family left him he’ll be nothing. So he killed them as a ego trip with a fuel of anger. He doesn’t regret it. If he did he wouldn’t have this trial. He’s a narcissist. How dare he have his 1st son speak on the stand knowing he killed his mom and brother.

WTF! Jim Griffith just admitted in closing that had Alex told the truth in the beginning about being at the kennels with Maggie and Paul a couple of minutes before the murders, Griffith wouldn’t have taken the case to be Alex’s defending attorney! Isn’t that admitting Alex’s guilt right there by the defense! Unbelievable!

Because of Paul’s video and witness testimony, Alex’s voice is placed at the scene of the crime at 8:44pm. So he has to take the witness stand and say he lied about his original story. In fact Alex did go down to the kennels and was there moments before the murders. He even lied to 911 about not being at the kennels. What innocent man would come upon a scene of his murdered wife and son and immediately manufacture such a huge lie. An innocent man would be confused and trying to process the horrible crime scene. Concocting a lie to 911 shows no confusion, no mental processing of an innocent man but cunning of a guilty man not wanting people to know he was at the scene of the crime while the murders were taking place! Alex actual went to the kennel’s in the golf cart and committed the murders. He returns to the murder scene a second time but uses the Suburban car rather than the golf cart. Why not take the golf cart down to the kennels like he did the first time when he committed the murders. It’s because by using the suburban car he can make sure it gets contaminated with DNA and blood from Maggie and Paul and use the excuse he had been to the bodies and checked on them.

Excellent closing for the prosecution! He opened with what they “would show and prove”, stayed focused on the same theme throughout, and closed with an extremely clear summary (without sounding like he was retrying the case, which is tricky) that tied every facet of their case together seamlessly. He also used Alex’s testimony against him line by line, lie by lie. If somehow Alex didn’t do this, he sealed his own fate when he got on the stand and tried to use his bags of tricks. Smh…. What an awful shame all the way around. I listened to all 26 days of this trial as if I were a juror. No outside commentary or having watched documentaries. I didn’t see how one person could have done this. In the end I believe Alex is guilty but I also believe he had some people waiting in watch to kill Paul and Maggie. He left the kennels expecting things to occur. Laid and listened to that horror..then left and came back. I believe someone was there when he called 911.. with him saying “Here…”. And then the rest… I believe this is why he keeps saying “I would never hurt Paul and Maggie”. Never I didn’t do this, I have no idea who did this, SLED was focused on me instead of finding out who really did this to my family, etc… I believe Paul was talking about more then a few pills in that phone message. I believe Maggie found a stash or actual distribution supply of pills. Alex was doing major deals and movement of pills. Not a mere addict (not to negate the impacts of addiction with a person). NO proof of his addiction to pills was offered. Not even a toxicology from his detox and rehab stints. Those were designed to elicit sympathy. We only had Alex’s account of this alleged pill dependency which is completely unreliable. This leaves me to believe that either SOMEBODY in this picture KNEW he was on pills OR was somehow involved in his drug running. Maybe he didn’t come through on some money he owed and Paul and Maggie were his punishment. If so, he must be mighty scared of these higher ups in the circle to take the complete fall for ALL OF IT!

I don't know if I would shown the dead bodies to the jury at the end. People have a hard time believing a husband/father could be so vicious.

Sadly, children are "annihilated" each and every day by parents. We are living in a time that no longer views families as sacrosanct. Of course we cannot view the past with uncompromising nostalgia. But I carry genuine nostalgia in my heart for the people who came before me and instilled in me an extraordinary work ethic, love of country and family, and a passion to protect those that do not have a voice, be they children or non-human beings.

Watched all of this closing.. PowerPoint was bad and awkward. It should of been practiced and rehearsed. Constantly looking into the eyes of the Jury.. not turning his back to read off a slide. Very lazy.. people may disagree but the PowerPoint imo was a bad choice.

In closing, the prosecutor wants the jury to take all the “ circumstances they are providing” because they failed to provide factual evidence, because: “ the eye witnesses are dead!” He knows that they have no facts to support the guilty verdict! The prosecutor claims that Alex is so good at lying that his lies cause facts to disappear never to be found again. He is making this man out to be very powerful. Means and opportunity does not equal guilty. They have overlooked that he may have had severe gambling debts and those murders could be retaliation for those debts. Those people don’t care who they hurt so long as the person knows that they have caused pain.

If you are willing to lie in an important investigation, you are guilty or complicit. That’s the moment of truth, not the moment some time later.
