Terry manipulated and used Craig’s earnings and age to help secure her environment. He paid off the house to avoid bankruptcy, he was smart to have his name added to the title.. he helped the grandson buy a truck and protected that investment to keep the daughter from gaining the asset and selling it.. then the daughter was asking for financial assistance from him to buy a house $25k… I suspect this is the argument, Terry wanted him to help and he was resisting.. I believe that Terry was very explosive toward Craig, she was the aggressor banging on his door in the middle of the night, etc… I found the daughter’s testimony to be inciting with her explosive choice of words.. There is no way he SLAMMED the door on her mother’s hands.. If he had slammed her head on the grill there would have been bruising.. Why didn't the daughter call 911, I would have called regardless...I believe he was trying to get the mother to leave.. she kept aggressing… I believe that fire was an accident started by Terry.. I do not believe he set her on fire, then dressed her and took her to the ER and stayed, while encouraging the daughter to get there because of the severity of the burns.. No person that SET the fire would be that involved in getting her care… There was a very significant reason why he had a second address to go to to escape the influence of Terry… Terry created this and the daughter is trying to get all of the assets at Craigs expense… He is not guilty... The daughter's financial issues were exposed on the stand. I believe her to be an entitled only child that wanted it all..... Her body language was way off and conflicted with much of her testimony.

I would find him not guilty due to a lack of evidence to link together what was found. The scene looked bad, what the husband did looks bad but the police did a poor job collecting and analyzing evidence. Get some body cameras and do some forensics. If there are detailed forensics then why wasn't it presented well? The photos show a lot but without enough evidence you're just making up a story to link it together. The defense attorney is too confrontational and the state prosecutor sounds like a popular high school girl but that's neither here nor there.

I’m shocked. Both the state and defense have rested and now they are going to write up the charges. I knew nothing about this case when I started watching, and I still feel like I don’t. Must admit, sloppy police work. Not enough photos and the second crime scene was totally ignored. The suspect did not need to be slammed into any surface. Why did it take so long for the police to get to the home to check it out. And the fire department should have been contacted after the fact for help. They have experts who should be able to say if there was an attempt to light a fire in the wood stove. So many questions left unanswered. Poorly handled case by the police. The DA did what she could with what she had and the Defense was protecting her client like any good lawyer should. Now it’s up to the jury. I voted hung because I didn’t hear anything that makes him guilty. Is he guilty, show me more. The daughter loved her mother, he was not very nice to her the day before. Why did Terry go back to her husband if he treated her like the daughter said. We will never know. “Terry said” she was lighting the fire. The verdict rests with the jury.

In his first trial the letter was allowed in but on appeal years and years later that said letter was his meal ticked to get a new trial thankfully they found him guilty on the seond trial without the letter. The state failed Mrs. Lewis and her daughter, who is also a victim, by not doing a good investigation, not presenting a solid case, not using an effective prosecutor and an ineffective judge. The state allowed the defense attorney to bully her way through the case. Very weak objections and letting the defense talk over her. I'm not convinced justice was served in this case. Look out for civil suits.

The doors to the wood stove fireplace were closed and I really don't think there was a fire in it at all. I'm wondering if he sprayed lighter fluid on her while she was sitting on the couch smoking a cigarette, resulting in her bad face and neck burns? Then as her face and neck were on fire he continued to spray the lighter fluid down the front of her body . Maybe she has slippers on or a throw blanket fell off of her and landed on her feet so that's why her feet didn't get burned. What do you think???

The defense rested without the judge going back and reviewing with the defendant that the choice to testify is his and his alone, etc. Will they do that before closing arguments, or too late now? Seems really odd and like inadvertantly omitted.

The judge merely explained that to him, the benefits of testifying or not, and the defendant said he would speak more with his attorneys about it. There was no need for the judge to address that again, as the defense didn't end up calling him as a witness.

He's literally been put through hell & back... At the end of the day, he was found not Guilty. The wife was in the hospital for 10 months then passed away. I think the daughter later dropped off Mom at the mom and the defendants marital home and they gained access through an unlocked door in the back. If I were her, I would’ve taken mom to my home especially after watching the defendant apparently banging mom’s hand against the door five times.

You don't have to, but when you have a defense attorney questioning everything - even matters that are not at issue - it would be nice to have a piece of paper to shut her up.

This defense attorney is so obnoxious and fake. This is her witness and it’s like she could care less what his answers are. she interrupts him before he even finishes his answer. She then tries to say something similar that state says after she’s done with each witness, to please answer any questions the state may have but its like she’s distracted she could give a hoot. so it’s actually more insulting than if she had said nothing. and then her closing, she does the same thing. The words seem like they should be compliment, but when they come out of the snakes mouth you can hear the insinuation, criticism, the innuendo of wrong doing. She makes me 🤢. I was surprised when the defense said the defense rest. The judge went oh, in surprise, in front of the jury.

This must be a really small town. Victim’s daughter went to school with the Sheriff, one of the arresting deputies was lifelong friends with the defendant and the victim’s daughter also went to school with the defendant.
