[LIVE] Shiny Eevee after 2,716 SRs In Pokémon Crystal VC + Evolution (Dark Theme DTQ #2)

And the streak just doesn't stop! Here is the second member of my Dark Theme DTQ, Shiny Eevee!

Friendship is such an incredible pain of a mechanic. I must've spent and entire day's worth of grinding just to get Eevee where it needed to be to evolve. This process is actually much easier once you've beaten the game since the Elite Four is perfect for training Eevee and raising happiness at the same time.
It's kinda crazy that this hunt is already done and now I'm onto my 3rd member! I might have a surprise hunt coming up - so stay tune for that!

That's awesome brother. I was playing through Crystal on virtual console today just looking for magby or elekid by hatching the odd egg. Second egg I hatched was magby & it was shiny.

You starting to power through this DTQ Avery! Love the shiny sprite for Eevee soo much in gen 2 since it has a darker shade of grey. One thing I do wanna say is I think when your starting a gen 2 save fileas a shiny hunter, I feel like you have to grind to goldenrod city as fast as your can since you unlock bike and the radio right on first visit quick is super nice!

Once as kid I found a shiny Pidgey didn't know what a shiny was at the time I wanted to catch it, but I didn't have any Pokeballs cause it was at the very start of the game so I was lucky to see it but unlucky to not catch it

Nope! Dratini has a normal gender ratio of 50/50, so both female and male can be shiny.

You say it can’t be shiny if it’s female, yet you continue to check even after seeing it’s a female.. I don’t get it. Also in the shiny starter video you weren’t checking the gender in the nickname screen.. why?

I quad hunt. It would be inefficient to check every individual one when using a controller mod. This is a method for people that choose to single hunt it.
