[LIVE] Shiny Roaming Raikou after 3,805 seen in HeartGold

Shiny Raikou without any duplicate Entei. I thought for sure I'd get at least one duplicate with my general phase luck but apparently not. I'm so, so happy with this. It's one of my all time favourite Pokémon. I love the Saber Tooth tiger design. It's for sure my favourite Legendary Beast.
I was only checking the Raikou when possible so I don't know how many soft resets this took, just the amount of roamers seen.

I'll probably be doing either a Gen 2 Roamer or another Bird roamer in Platinum before going for Cresselia next year. I haven't quite decided yet so we'll see.

Roamers in Gen 2 are a MAJOR pain. I highly recommend you put that off until you win a lottery or something.

I have a question, so I’m thinking about hunting shiny latias in my HeartGold, now I already talked to Steven in vermillion and I’ve saved since then, however in my Pokédex (not Pokegear) it says I’ve “seen” latias already but I don’t recall ever seeing it. My question is after you talk to Steven about latias, does it record latias’s entry in the dex without seeing it? Cause when you talk to Steven the picture of it comes up and it’s cry to, so I was wondering if that recorded it in the dex. Cause if that’s the case and I haven’t actually seen it, I could still find it’s shiny version if I saved right now, then search for it, and if it wasn’t shiny, just soft reset right?

Unfortunately the stats are generated when you speak to Steven Stone. The Latias you have on your save file is the Latias that will always be there. You'll need to restart that save file I'm afraid.

One question about ur content. Every couple days you upload a video with the number or RE's and SR's in the thousands. Do you just do youtube? Because ur entire day must be filled with just shiny hunting to accomplish these feats.

Hey. No, this is not my job. It's just a hobby. I'm currently on academic leave from my job until March and I've just finished my Masters degree so I have a lot of free time. Plus, these are some old hunts that were on my backlog list too. I honestly don't think I'd ever do KZbin as a job, or streamed. It's too dependant on the platform working correctly and inconsistent. I have quite a good high ranking job in a career field too so I wouldn't like to give it up. I'm just a man child who likes shinies and tough hunts :)

I don't consider that to be a viable method unless you really just wanted one of the Beasts and refused to even look at the other one in case it was shiny. The transitional speed between the routes just simply makes this so much faster. These Roamers are incredibly fast. I believe the only time where the way you're referring to is faster is Gen 2 and the Roamers in Ruby/Sapphire.

Only Entei and Raikou are roamers in HG/SS. Suicune is a static encounter on Cerulean Cove in Kanto. In the case of the other Beasts, it is possible however I wouldn't recommend trying it. Once you find one beast shiny and the other is knocked out, the respawn point is the Elite 4 battle. This means that to generate a new roamer (that didn't previously shine), you would need to beat the Elite 4 over and over. I think someone timed it to about a 20-25 minute reset.

It doesn't work. Your game saves automatically once you enter the Hall of Fame. Read my reply again. You need to beat the Elite 4 every single reset. There is no saving.

Technically you can hunt both on the same save file but the reset for the 2nd Beast will require you to beat the Elite 4 every reset. The roamer is regenerated every time you clear the league, the frame after it saves. Unless you want a 20 minute reset, it's not worth it.

Sure. What is it you're stuck on exactly? You need something to KO the first Beast that isn't shiny. I used a Mamoswine with Earthquake and Choice Band. I bred an Adamant one but I made sure it hatched on the game I was hunting in because it needs to obey me at level 40 (don't go over level 40). Speed doesn't matter as you'll always attack first, they're programmed to go after you. Then just follow the video from there. KO the first Beast or Masterball it (if you want to use a MB, faster) and then find the other. Lead with an Illuminate Pokemon for faster encounters.

What platform are you playing on? And how come the fps is so good? On my 3ds the fps is horrible. All the buildings go all wavy when walk past them

I play on a DS capture card. For 3DS I play on a 3DS capture card. The FPS is the standard 30fps that all Pokémon games minus 3rd Gen run at (60). If you hold down Select and Start when booting up a DS game on a 3DS, you'll get the original resolution. The 3DS doesn't display DS titles very well imo and the blurring is due to the higher resolution.

@@Sonikks yeah like playing the 3rd gen games its proper smooth and stuff but doesn't have the 3d effect. It's only HGSS etc that I've played that looks like garbage. ORAS looks really nice in comparison. Frame rate isn't as choppy in the slightest. I think its black and white or diamond and pearl that looks awful too

lol that's what I do in Ultra Sun. that's my high odds game; with shiny charm making everything besides certain gift Pokemon 1/1365 or better I'll SR til my Synchronize works. If you're doing it in anything 1/4096 or worse, you're crazy...but I'd admire it lol.

Yeah that's how I did it. Hatched a Swinub in my game I wanted to hunt it in and then trade it over to another game to level it up.
