Just returned to the ini A310 in March 2022 and following along. Can confirm the battery behaviour is STILL exactly how you show in this video. Back to the Felis Tu154 it is for me then.

I think the A300 v2 was fixed in a recent version, but the A310 certain wasn’t right from what I saw. They’ve also fixed the VLS indication on the A300 v2, but it’s not right on the Beluga. (I don’t have the A310 to compare)

What a stupendous video/tutorial. The level of knowledge you impart is simply awesome and anticipates and answers questions I didn’t know I needed to ask. Was introduced to your amazing content with the Felis 747-200……did you/are you? going to conclude the series with the landing. Either way fantastic job, and thank you for all the obvious hard work you put into the content. 👌👍

Thanks for the very nice feedback. Yes there was a bit of a delay on the last 747 tutorial video, but it's ready for viewing now!

I look forward enormously to watching the final portion of your Felis 747 series…….the poor pilot can’t stay in the hold I put him in at TOD forever 🤣👍

Watched it on twitch, but it’s nice to have it available here as well! Thanks a lot for all your content! You’re a great inspiration

Thanks Andrey, glad you like the content. Some of the Twitch content will come across to KZbin also as there’s a wider audience here, but I’ll always mark them clearly as “Live Stream” so you know you’ve probably seen it already on Twitch.

I am very happy you uploaded this contento to youtube as well. Have to watch it, but I already know it is going to be great content, very enjoyable and will learn a lot for when this situation backs up and we are called to fly again for real. Thank you very much for this educational and fun videos. Thumbs up for my favourite instructor on the net.

Thanks for the fab content. I would love you to do more A320 tutorials... I know there are several excellent ones out there by others, but I got a lot out of your short A320 series, it would be great to have more.

Thanks for the nice feedback Keith. What sort of content would you be looking for with the A320?

@@ReflectedRealitySimulations Any tips on flaring and landing (I usually float or bump, one or the other) and it would be really good to learn about some more common faults (not just the engine failures, though maybe those too!) as I have had some crop up in the Toliss A319 and tried to follow the ECAM but not really known what I was doing or how serious they were (e.g. Electrical TR1 fault). Perhaps flying departure and approach charts, there seem to be so many constraints that I usually just let the AP manage them, which might be cheating. Diverting mid flight maybe and how you decide where and what route. If you ever feel like doing any of these (or other airbus a320 tuition) I guarantee you at least one view! No pressure though, I appreciate the ones you’ve already done.

They dont even include this plane for sale on their website anymore so what makes you think they will continue to update it????

I don't know what the current status is with the A300, but when this stream was recorded almost two years ago it was still in active development. There was a V2 released but I don't know what the plans are going forward - it seems like ini are focusing on MSFS now.

for the G/S, it's better to capture itr while descending as to reduce fuel consumption, this technique is called CDA (constant descend arrival) I think. I always apply A320 technique for ILS apporach : flaps 1 when capturing the LOC, then flaps when 2000-2500 ft RA depending on the wind component followed by Gear down, then flaps 3 at 190-180 a,f lastly flaps 4 around 160. Of course this can change as I only fly on vatsim so if the controller tells me to reduce to 180 before ILS cleareance, then i'll have to go 2 flaps before capturing the LOC for example
@ReflectedRealitySimulations
@ReflectedRealitySimulations 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I am familiar with the CDA, I fly the A320 in real life. Unfortunately the technique you describe is simply not practical on a 320 at normal weight. Airbus do state flaps 2 when no less than 2000ft on approach, but unless a significant headwind is present the aircraft will accelerate down the glide slope without flap 2, and as ILS approaches are often speed controlled flap 2 is almost always used at GS capture. Flap 3 at 190 is a flap overspeed on the A320 and A319, but is possible on a A321. Although a CDA is generally a good idea when speed controlled, the noise footprint and fuel burn can be reduced by aiming for a short level segment just before the glide slope. This allows the aircraft to slow from 250kts to 180kts (for an A320) without using the speed brakes and keeping the thrust at idle. The speed brakes are a significant source of noise on the approach, so there’s always a balance between a full CDA, and a short deceleration segment. Hope that makes sense.

@@ReflectedRealitySimulations regarding the technique, I was talking about the A300 not the A320, as you were flying the 300 I the video haha. Regarding a320, I only flown the fslabs models which one of the most accurate model in the simulation world, generally I select config 1 when LOC is active, then Config 2 and gear down when passing 2000ft RA, followed by config 3/4. I can’t recall overspeeding when selecting flaps 2 after the GS is captured, but it has been months since I last flew with the fslabs
@ReflectedRealitySimulations
@ReflectedRealitySimulations 3 жыл бұрын
Ahh, I realise now you were talking about applying the A320 style approach to the A300! I’ve not flown the FSLabs model, but in real life flap 1 down a 3 degree glide slope is quite marginal. It will do it with a headwind, but any environmental disturbance (summer thermals, changing wind layers) and the aircraft will accelerate, so really it just isn’t done that way most of the time. There is a significant momentary change when flap 2 is selected, which pushes the aircraft high on the glide slope, and it will then lower the nose and recapture the glide slope, but during that period it will sit uncomfortably close to the flap 2 speed limit.

Yes, it could do in this case! Honestly the flight dynamics are the biggest issue with this aircraft for me as it really breaks the immersion. I really wish they fixed that before moving on to other projects.

So i'm interested in if this plane is worth it. Do any of these issues hinder normal flight outside of some broken immersion. It seems like a cool aircraft if expensive.
@luzten
@luzten 3 жыл бұрын
Right now it looks like it doesn't worth. For such an expensive addon better to save some money. Very high quality addons are coming soon to XP11, time to wait and have patience :)

Sorry for the delay replying. I can’t advise on purchasing or not, but have a look at the features ai show and see what you think. If you like flying from A to B in a different aircraft you’ll probably enjoy this. If you’re looking for deep systems modelling this may not be the one for you as although there are lots of switches it doesn’t feel like there is any “life” behind them. If you haven’t yet purchased, personally I would wait to see what the ini team do with the A310 as they seem to be saying it will be substantially improved over the A300.
