Nice. I gotta DB4, I assume the effects are similar, not mad about the reverb or distortion myself but like the delay. Love your videos boss, great to see not just technical info but also inspirational stuff too. Keep up the great work.
@LuctaeMusic
@LuctaeMusic 2 жыл бұрын
@@mickolos Thx McG! Yeah I believe the fx are similar. Mod and DMG I never use, Res has some nice things, delay is really good. Reverb is OK for pushing things to the background to make room for the next track. The DB4 is Really next level, congrats on that fine mixer! Next week a new motivational vid is coming... Stay tuned!

In my opinion we (and youtube) lack of video tutorial about the Analog Four when it comes to techno (and when I find some they are all focused on "melodic techno" - I would be pleased to see some more "raw" or "banging" stuff)

The kick does not need to be tuned when it’s tail time is very short, but as longer the tail is, the more bass will ring, mostly because the pitch envelope of the kick is already on zero while kick amp envelope still plays which is a steady bass note. That’s the reason why I use super short kicks.
@LuctaeMusic
@LuctaeMusic 2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you about tuning the kick when it comes to melodic content. However... There is also woofer movement, you dont want to have those bass/kick frequencies fighting for woofer capacity.

@@LuctaeMusic I believe that you are on the right track with this kind of video. I mean there are a lot of videos out there with either jams or tutorial of how to make kicks, pads etc. I liked the concept of a small throughout the process of setting up a live jam and basic points for consideration for example how to match kick and bass, noise usage etc.

Thanks for this great video! In my opinion we (and youtube) lack of video tutorial about the Analog Four when it comes to techno. I own one (Grey MK2 as yours) for a few weeks now (I was more of a "computer based producer") and I would be really interested in any kind of "techno tutorial" with the A4. Sound design but also any "sequencing" tips.

Cool jam, thanks for the tips or sequencing. Why don't you use the send/return on the DB2, couldn't you route in your reverb and delay, then apply them to any track?
@LuctaeMusic

Thank you! The db2 doesn’t have send/returns, only 2 onboard fx busses. Also… as for the collider pedal, it’s part of my sound designing, it uses a patch per track

Great video! Are you using the elektron Digi for sounds at all or just the brain? I've got an A4 + Peak + Monologue XD module + Hydra module. Circuit Tracks as the 🧠. So im only using 7 tracks total (3 tracks from Circuit sequencing Hydra, Peak and XD + 4 tracks on A4) . Have you tried an XD? It's an outstanding synth and the filter is as good as it gets imo. Great reverbs on it as well.
@LuctaeMusic
@LuctaeMusic Жыл бұрын
Thx! I use the digitakt for samples too, mainly some vocal trigs, maybe some ambience, or a filtered down drum loop. The XD is a great piece of kit, I owned one, but ended up selling it. The third programmable osc and excellent fx, that filter just didn't do it for me. It sound fine when set to a position, but sweeps just didnt sound right to my ears. Maybe that's a personal thing though...

Hello. I call it the bass train-line ( I call it so ): the groovy ongoing bass. It is the one the we make once and never touching again. Ex0ecially the tuning . Actually should exist some dedicated to it better than whats around. Moog made a one but its the only alternative , which I don't like for the lack of waveforms and some tiny screen.... Choosing our basic base train/line seams so easy but its not. In a live set nothing has to be wasted and the best its to use potential and space in the more practic way. I enjoyed ur vid. Thanks a lot for the hint. my studio equip: deluge+blofeld+monologue

I own the DT/DN. Also techno producing since not too long ago. Would you recommend me the A4 as the 1st higher tier Elektron box?
@LuctaeMusic
@LuctaeMusic 2 жыл бұрын
I’d say it would be an upgrade, yes. Sound wise it had a lot to offer, although different than fm or samples obviously. It sounds gritty and analog, has its own character. Major game changer for me is kits. But also cv outs, inputs individual outs and the infinite sound sculpting possibilities are important. It all depends on what you are looking for offcourse.

@LuctaeMusic
@LuctaeMusic 2 жыл бұрын
