I bought the M4 base model but with upgraded 32gb of Ram so I can run Parallels along with Windows 11 in the background to run Windows only applications and I upgraded to 1TB to futureproof myself. I can't believe how fast this thing is. Like insanely fast. This is definitely going to last at least 10 years like my older Intel Macbook Pro did back in the day. I'm running it with 2 1080p displays. Even pushing the CPU hard I haven't been able to get the fan to run on high. At most it's barely on and it remains barely warm at all even under heavy loads. VERY impressed by this Mini!

Woo-hoo! I'm sorry I missed the livestream! One of my M1 Mac Minis is a nice Asahi Linux box running Fedora 40; I added the CInnamon desktop...so it looks and works like my Linux Mint machines. 😆🤣 Hoping you enjoy this machine! Aloha!

Love your choice of keyboard. 😃

Do you need a cable connected keyboard ( not bluetooth ) to set it up initially ?

You were upscalng no mans sky from 1440x810 :) First you had Vsync triple buffered enabled which fixes the framerate to 60 on the Mac port regardless of what max fps you set in the settings. MetalFX temporal is Apples version of DLSS/FSR. The quality setting below it indicates the game runs at a lower resoltuon (1440 × 810 in your case with Quality at 1080p) but upscaled. Balanced would be 540p etc. Turn off temporal and triple buffering and you'll get the real no mans sky performance. These are the resolutions according to Apples documentation: Quality - 66.6% (2/3) per axis, 45% resolution. Balanced - 58% per axis, 33% resolution Performance - 50% per axis, 25% resolution. Ultra Performance - 33% (1/3) per axis, 11% resolution. From my testing the GPU power is right on par with the Ryzen AI 370 HX' 890M. It runs the exact same average FPS as a 890M without upscaling.
