I have been watching you guys closely. I sense you only have a luke warm interest in the PAC 12. Consider this, the best option for Oklahoma Srate is the PAC 12. The cowboys would soon match up with Cokorado and the Arizona schools. The PAC 12 suffers from their geographic location. On football saturdays the east coast is fast asleeo while Oregon and USC are fighting it out on the gridiron. A game in Lubbock on fooball Saturday against an Oregon, USC or Washington would make TV money. My personal interest. I love women's basketball above all the other sports. Can you imagine a conference with the two Oregon's, Stanford, UCLA, Arizona and Baylor! Bring it on!
@davidskiff30833 жыл бұрын
It was mentioned to merge with AAC, making 19 teams. Navy is football only and would probably bail for independent. ECU and Tulane were never really good fits. That brings it down to a 16 team superconference, with many great football and basketball programs from each side.

As an Aggie, TU joining the SEC sux however we have been in the the SEC for a decade but thinking through this, we have Jimbo fisher. We ain’t sacred and will be ready to beat the hell outa TU and the Sooners. We have established ourselves over the past decade!

A&M have certainly “established” themselves as the most mediocre team in the nation over the last 2 decades.

Do you worry about Coach O being on the hot seat and Jimbo's affinity with LSU?

Why would they tell him and risk the deal being sabotaged? They had no obligation to tell him and it would have been stupid to tell him

Returning to the earliest vids covering this story and a very old original comment, but per the BIG12 Bylaws notice of talks with the SEC was required.

Why is this a shock? When Boren was OU president, it was known that he was looking toward moving OU to the Big 10. It was known that OU was tired of the 11 am football games. OU got really ticked over the Nebraska game time. Bowlsby did not support OU in their desire to have a night game. If you did not know that OU fans and OU staffers have been upset with the Big 12, you have missed the writing on the wall.
@marka75193 жыл бұрын
The networks determine the kickoff time, not the conference.
@ronparsley31123 жыл бұрын
@@marka7519 Bowlsby did not support OU's position and had a terse response to OU's position during Big 12 media days. Fox sets the time, but Big 12 seems to have done nothing to encourage the network to spread those slots around. The frustration has not been a secret.

Not every young CFB HC...or Assistant...has NFL asperations. Every successful OU HC stayed for many years. HCs of some CFB teams do not have to leave for the NFL in order to get paid, and a vast majority that try to make it in the NFL....fail. There are CFB HC positions that are destination jobs....OU is one, and as long as Coach Riley and OU does well, he will be there a long time.

Is there any reason why KU can't fit in the Big Ten? I sure do miss coach mangino. Idiots at KU we're so self-righteous and so PC they fired him. Rock Chalk Jayhawks

Baylor and WV to ACC. KU, KSU, ISU, and OSU to big 10 (osu has wrestling and that’s their best sport and big 10 best at wrestling). Tcu to AAC and Tech to Pac 12 or both to pac 12.
@QuentinDude3 жыл бұрын
KSU and ISU will end up in the lowly mountain west and TCU and Baylor will probably be as well

Now that the story has waned, like revisiting the earlier vids that still pop up as recommendations. BAYLOR is simply too far away from the ACC, which also has more than average smaller private schools. WVU has been rejected multiple times and still doesn't fit academically or culturally. Neither were or are likely ACC expansion options. Conference consolidation is going to leave more schools on the outside, not less. Not really different than the current situation other than how many are on each side of the divide.
@tonyplunk63543 жыл бұрын
Baylor to ACC please

TAM was at the middle to bottom of the B12 when they left. OU had beat the 77-0 a few years prior. There was no TAM / UT rivalry. It was Ou/UT even then. OU has been the conference champion for the majority of it's existence. There is no comparison between OU leaving and TAM. Texas is just the Missu in this move. They are just coming along for the ride.
@Psalm_333 жыл бұрын
I agree. TAMU caught fire with the Kingsburry/Manziel momentum and looked good for one year. Last year? There is real chance that was a fluke. It was weird Covid Year. 4 of their wins could have easily been losses (Vandy, Auburn, Florida and NC) and their one loss was a blowout. Most years, you are what your record says you are. Take Texas. They were 7-3. Two of their wins could have easily been losses and two of their losses could have easily been wins. So they were what they were............a mediocre 7-3 team. I think TAMU is much closer to what Texas is than OU. However, that 9-1 record does create momentum and momentum is real........until 2 days ago. So who knows? Just my opinion. I'm a Longhorn btw.
