Rick Santorum was why I reversed my 2009 decision and got involved as a state GOP delegate again for 2012. As a Gen-X voter, even I understand biracial people. In 8th grade (in 1983), I had a huge crush on a gorgeous biracial girl. She had a Hispanic mother and African-American father. I mentioned it at a family dinner just after I graduated from 8th grade and my grandmother said she'd disown me if I ever dated a girl like her, showing her blatant racism. It made me feel ashamed of my own heritage (Irish/German/polish/Czech mix). Just a few years later, one of my cousins from her other daughter married a Hispanic man and she disowned that cousin.
