Wow, that's awesome you went with the DM3D!! I got a custom road case built for this mixer but they were out of stock for ever, the one with Dante at least. Now when I get it I have a nice long in depth unboxing to get familiar!

Hello, thank you for this video. Is it true there’s no automix between the input channels?
@djp_video16 күн бұрын
It's true. There is no auto-mix feature on this mixer.

Came to late for live and haven‘t watched the show yet. Just gotta say, the DM3 is my current travel mixer and just the f*cking best at it. Crazy feature set in such a small and light package! Couldn‘t recommend it enough. It is the first mixer i would recommend to new Audioengineers as well. It enables you to learn how to operate big consoles on a small scale that can go with you for a good while until you have grown into a bigger setup.

I can say so many more things and talk about places where I see this thing, but nobody got time to read that 😂

I am pairing the with my Glensound Paradiso Lite w/ Dante! That thing is amazing! Its like a 16 channel mixer by itself

Hi Doug. I'm liking my DM3d so far. Can I ask you a dumb question? The little yellow screen protector tab popped off when I pulled it to remove what I expected was a layer of protective plastic. But now, I'm not sure. I was going to get an exacto knife and try to remove what appears to be a thin layer of plastic, but I'm worried that it's actually screen or a screen protector that is supposed to be there. Screen seems awfully dim. Did yours have a layer of protective plastic that peeled off?

I believe there is a protection sheet covering the whole display, but proceed with caution, at your own risk.

@@djp_video Thanks Doug. Yep, a pretty thin one but removed it and now I can actually see the display in a little bit of sunlight. This is a pretty nifty little mixer. User manual leaves a little to be desired, but who reads em anyway right?

I wish DM3 will use DM7 Firmware / OS. Because the firmware of DM3 now like the TF series, not user friendly I think. 😄

I have never liked the screen on these, and the graphics, BUT...what is does for the mix is wayyyy more important in our corporate AV work...I am still not seeing these cycling into our productions yet for like breakout rooms or midsize conference rooms. Ironically I had a Yamaha CL5 on a room with 23 podium mics, which seemed like excess for that size conference room.

They probably won't be replacing Behringer/Midas XR/MR mixers in that space, but my goodness are DM3 mixers so much easier to use. Just wish they had the Dan Dugan auto mixer.
@SeanTolan_illuminated_imaging2 ай бұрын
@@djp_video I heard that same wish for those yesterday

I am also interested in "low-budget" 2 or 4 channel mic to dante. I have bought ESI planet 22x to test out (also as communication box with speakers and mic with switch), but DT20 also looks good.

@dougjohnsonproductions how do intend to install it in your setup?
@djp_video2 ай бұрын
It won't be installed, per-se. It will be included in the gear used for small-ish events where I'm using my flypack but don't need the full capabilities or channel counts of my Yamaha TF1 or TF3. I've had a bit of a hole in my equipment lineup for my smaller productions where I don't want to lug the full TF1 but need more than a channel or two of audio.
