But I feel like there are far too many commenters on this video who don't even know how well suited Chris was to the nature of RAtM. Look up the song "Gun" from _Louder Than Love,_ recorded in 1989. I've been working on a project lately, and in researching I have been blown away and gratified to learn that they played it live from the time it was released right through to 2015. This was not a single. It was not a thing anyone but their true fans loved and waited for. That Chris kept wanting to sing it tells me he still felt that way, never stopped. I had the privilege of seeing Audioslave live once. Out of the VERY many concerts I've been to, Audioslave was one of my top two, easily! It was my only time seeing Chris Cornell live and he was absolutely amazing!!! Seeing Audioslave live was like 5 concerts in one: Audioslave (of course), Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Rage Against the Machine, and a couple of Chris Cornell's solos. The last song they played the night I saw them live was Killing in the Name and they brought the house down! Chris will always hold a special place in my heart with that voice.

Nah it’s coz the singing style is too different, get a rapper and he will come much closer. I know the poet and singer distinction - artists like Johnny cash and willow Nelson are very poetic while Whitney Houston and Celine dion are note making machines. Chris Cornell is def poet type that can hit mean notes. I was a kid when Layne Staley died so I never saw him perform, but I did see DuVall perform live and based on the recordings of the original AIC lineup live concerts DuVall cant compare to Layne. *I think William DuVall is a huge mistake. I can see why AIC chose him as their new frontman, but there are ALOT of individuals who could fill Laynes shoes much better. (The youtuber, Robert Lundgren is one of them)
