My father had been battling cancer for three years. Eventually his kidneys failed and was put into hospice in his home. I got a call and flew back home immediately. When I got there he was conscious and aware of certain things. I remember telling him I loved him and him responding as best he could. I remember showing him Chad, he had always said he loved his music. He always said, "it was dark, but had a positive outlook." I had put on this live performance and watched him listen to it while using his strength to raise his arms. He seemed to really like Broken Bell. The following Saturday he passed. It took three hours for someone to come and remove in from my moms home. I had played "Broken Bell" while sitting next to him after he passed. Maybe I have taken "Broken Bell" in the literal sense, but that song has incredibly affected me. Chad I love everything that you do, I really hope "Broken Bell" is on your new album. I miss my dad dearly, and will always remember that moment. Thank you for everything that you do.

I got to see Chad play in my hometown about 8 or so years ago, it was in a children's museum, where all the exhibits were interactive, there was a cave section and a rainforest section, and in the main area where he performed there was a giant whale skeleton hanging above us from the ceiling! It was a magical night that is still one of my favorite outings. I could tell then and now that he's shy and would much rather write and record at home with his family than tour endlessly in front of hundred and thousands of strangers. I feel that and I hope he continues to do whatever brings him joy

His music is fucking brilliant and it's a travesty nobody in my country in England seems to of heard of him if he'd been born in a different decade he'd of gotten the recognition he deserves.

Tell that too Nick Drake. Sometimes people just don't get the recognition they deserve, though I think Chad has a respectable following.

Wow !Thanx for uploading this. And what a tremendous shooting of the live gig that is ! Congratulations to the team. I feel so grateful of having seen Chad performed live with a full band, back then in Berlin @Festsaal Kreuzberg, around 2011. What a gig .....every song was striking all mental chords !! What a gifted musician!!!!!!!

Does anyone know where that pad sound is coming from? I assumed it was the key board but then the other player left the stage i thought I could still hear it.
@OneAfter-wb9gq3 жыл бұрын
If you're referring to the drum pad hes playing a snare and kick with pedals and hitting a cymbal with a stick attached to the head of his guitar.

Does anyone have any clue as to what tuning he's in? It's so foreign to my ears but sounds so good!

I've heard he tunes his guitar to his own tuning. So I don't know, I guess you'd need to figure it out by ear.
