Caramel Spice he also struggled with cocaine abuse and family dysfunction (but who doesn’t), so he wasn’t without flaws. But IMO, his flaws were ancillary to his legacy. In other words, it’s his ability to translate his struggles and imperfections into great music that makes him legendary. You actually feel his with him.

@@dannyadamson5580 I saw him in Atlanta Stadium, in the round(gone now) I was one of the only White folks in the place, you could count us, we stuck out. Got a lot of "bad vibes" and comments from the brothers and sisters, till Marvin began to sing, and I sang along every word. Then all the folks around noticed I knew what is was about, then we all began to sing together. I wasn't going to miss the chance to see Marvin, and get in to Live. I had ah GREAT time. Marvin was Righteous, and as good as the recording. I'd go see him tomorrow, if it were possible.

Marvin Gaye!...One of the absolute sexiest men that's ever lived...his movements, his gorgeous smile, his smooth voice, his writing (What's Going On, etc.) I was only 13 years old & did not know what a "Concert" was. All I knew was that Marvin Gaye would be at Cobo Hall in Detroit. I snuck out the house & somehow made it to the front row. THANK YOU FOR TOUCHING MY HAND AND SINGING A PART OF DISTANT LOVER TO ME, I WILL CHERISH THAT MOMENT UNTIL MY LAST BREATH! I will always be your #1 Fan. With Love, Dawn. PS Thanks to my Mother for her tolerance of me when I was a teen, as she said "If I didn't play all your albums one million times, I never played them."

Marvin's contributions to music, society, and our culture in general were enormous. This album stands as a testament to his artistry, talent and vision. As if the music and vocals werent enough to cement it as a brilliant album... the lyrical message is so profound, sublime and spiritual. I think it's the most important album ever from that standpoint. It resonates today and will continue to resonate. We need to get our act together as a species and stop the madness. We need to be enlightened. Some of us are... but the powers that be, our "institutions"... they operate under base, selfish desires without a care for humanity, the planet, or anything of real value. Just greed, power, destruction. As of now... we are f*cked.

You said it! I know in a heartbeat that many of us would change it in a minute but it's so hard getting by the powers that be but as you said they don't care, they care about the money. They will meet their maker! Peace and love to you...✌❤
