I am an arrogant, obnoxious meat eater who always has something to say about vegetarians; however when you mentioned adding bacon to this even though you're a strict vegetarian my heart melted like the delicious cheese in this sandwich. I tried it this morning and I changed your recipe just a little. Instead of american cheese, I used salty panir, which is kind of middle eastern cheese. I also added some green hot pepper and garlic. It was delicious. You might wanna check this out.

Never thought of something like that. I'm definitely going to try this one. And yes mine will have bacon. I'll use brown bread though. Don't have any sourdough. I don't know if you use margarine at all, but that's what I'm using. Thank you for sharing, this sounds great.
