Ok so I’m from Elkhart…life long resident….apparently from a friend of mine that works there, it was over alcohol, the suspect wanted to buy alcohol without ID and the young girl 18 working the self scan told him he couldn’t buy the alcohol without ID so he just shot the 18 young lady in the head, he also shot another person and killed them before running out of the store at which time the police were already outside and engaged with the suspect he then started shooting at them wounding 2 but also losing his life….that is all that any of us know at the moment, it was a really sad day for my city, there was also another 18 year old young lady shot and killed earlier in the day (unrelated but still sad)

This is a result of lack of training by police officers in the city of Elkhart by police Daniel Milanese who recklessly endanger the citizens of this community every morning when he gets up and goes to work. You have a department with people in key leadership positions that have business whatsoever in those positions. This is what I have been saying for over a year and a half about the Elkhart Police Department. Now the city has two shootings in less than 24 hours. Perhaps if the Elkhart Police Department was actually doing their job instead of harassing people when they’re not even on duty then perhaps things like this would not happen.
