Hi Neil! I'm sorry to hear of your battle. I'm very happy to hear you're doing what you can to remain positive. That isn't easy. I'm going to show my mom your videos. She was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma last year and had treatment and everything seemed to be fine until a year to the date this past August. After mri's and labs, the cancer came back in two areas of her liver. Unfortunately her case most likely arose from a blood transfusion in the early to mid 80's that was contaminated with hepatitis c. Fast forward to the past month, mom told me she's feeling ok but is battling depression from her diagnosis. She did have treatment last month, radioablation (probably spelled wrong), but the depression is clinging to her.She said to me if this treatment doesn't work or if cancer comes back (she has an mri coming up in December), she says she doesn't want to go through more treatments and wants the cancer to run its course. This hurt me to hear her say this. I really couldn't say anything but "Your doing great though". Really, what does one say to their mother who's been through sooo much regarding her battles? So "stumbling" upon your videos and listening to you share your story, I think my mom may relate. Thank you for sharing your strength.
@RedneckkenobiАй бұрын
I’m sorry about your mom. Depression is common in liver disease. And my mom died of lung cancer. When it got close to the end she had excepted it and made her decision. All we could do was reassure her that we were going to be ok. And respect her decision. It was hard. The last days were the worse. I don’t think there’s a magic word or phrase for that. Just making sure she knew we were going to be ok put her mind at ease. It is a tough disease. There’s no cure for cirrhosis. Just a hope for a transplant that may or may not work. Just being by her side and help her find something to focus on is important. Making her feel like she’s still useful and helpful. That ones hard. Loosing the ability to do things you used to be able to do. I wish you and your family the best. My heart goes out to your mom.

Dan, you might need a paracentesis. It'll drain a lot of the fluid build up off your stomach. I had it done and then was put on diuretics and a proper diet to take care of the rest. Of course, quitting the booze is the most important thing. I'd go see a doctor. I was in the same situation you are three years ago and have completely turned my life around. Talk to your PCP and see if he'll refer you to a GI. This is something you might only get one chance at. Make it count. 👍

I don’t know where you live and what kind of kind of specialist you see but I would get a second opinion from a whole different set of Doctors. I’m sorry that you are going through all of this. I wouldn’t give up on the liver transplant specs. Sounds like you just keep hitting a wall with your Doctors. Definitely find a doctor who will help you. Again I hope things get better for you soon. @RedneckkenobiАй бұрын
I do agree that there can be good results from fasting. But when the liver turns cirrhotic it stops processing proteins, so you need to consume about 200 grams of protein a day. If you do not the liver starts taking from other parts of the body, the muscles, and the organs. I wasn’t able to eat for 5 days about 6 months ago due to an issue with my esophagus. My liver number went very high and I turned yellow again. Before decompensated cirrhosis this may work. But not in end stage cirrhosis. But I appreciate your suggestion

Everyone is headed to hell by default according to the Bible (to pay for their sins). But God loves us and doesn’t want that for us, so he came as a man (Jesus) and led a perfect, sinless life, so that he could legally pay for our sins by giving his life for us on the cross (he bought us with his own blood). But to receive this forgiveness, there are things we must do: 1) repent of our sins (be sorry for them, confess them to God, and turn from them) 2) Forgive everyone else for their sins against us (no matter what they are) and ask God to forgive them 3) Believe Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross to pay for our sins and rose again 4) Love others, especially those in our immediate families 4) Serve and Obey God the rest of our lives and continually repent of any new sins. God also wants us to get baptized as a profession of our new faith.
