tbh if he's not eating primarily roots, nuts, berries, and other stuff gathered/cultivated by his wife and the other women and/or children and possibly disabled people in his community; living in a tribe where they raise each other's kids mostly in common and share most things (possibly with a loosely matriarchal power structure); living a life of seasonal, sustainable migration patterns following their game's migration; and shitting on the ground, behind a bush or something, then he's not really *ancestor living* in all seriousness, it's the same old issues you get with stuff like the Paleo diet; you can't aim to live like a caveman/prehistoric or "primitive" human in one aspect of your life, but not take into account how other factors in your life differ from the conditions early humans lived in, if you want to replicate the physical and mental state of early humans (which you probably wouldn't *want* to do anyway - modern medicine and modern shelter are pretty great - but yeah).

Him and his wife (holistic dentist, btw), 100% subscribe to this nonsense. Their kids don't have a choice.

There's some guy out there with a Colbert Report poster in his basement who remembers that show fondly (because he genuinely thinks Colbert was unironically agreeing with him) and that will never not be the funniest thing of all time. Or for a parent who wasn't weird and out of breath all the time? I once slept in a winter coat in -20 degree weather because we were squatting in our own home. You think the Liver King would say that was an effective use of cold? Also: as someone who took a few classes in college: he does realize humanity wasn't a monolith, right? That the hunter-gather mentality was common... until agriculture made it so you could delegate certain tasks and have a more communal and permantment settlement. He understands that the invention of fortified rice, enriched breads, and canned foods like... saved millions, if not billions, of people? Our ancestors would just be disappointed in him, in my opinion. Yeah... Liver has a lot of easily accessible nutrients so it can be a pretty healthy part of your diet, but it's not the kind of food you should have in copious amounts or more often than one or two times a week, since it's really high in the kind of vitamin A that our bodies needs more time to metabolize than the kind of vit A you get from plant based food. Several of his recommendations contain health risks(like not brushing your teeth... This is not just something we do for fresh breath, keeping cavities and infections at bay is beneficial for your overall health, and bad dental health is tied to a myriad of other bullshit.) but they're more "slow cookers" since his followers would have to do these things for a long period of time before it starts affecting their health negatively. The liver thing is more acutely dangerous, if you OD on that shit you're going to the ER tonight.

"Our early ancestors were regularly subjected to cold. It's like we're purpose-built for it". I guess there _are_ ancestors of modern humans who had to deal with the cold regularly, but definitely some more than others. And how far back in history is he thinking? Considering that humans initially evolved and spent a lot of time in sub-Saharan Africa, and that we have evolved qualities like having less fur and sweating more than most mammals... I don't think we are purpose-built for the cold. Polar bears are built for the cold, emperor penguins are built for the cold; we can't stay out in the places they live without coats or we DIE.

Alright so the mouth-sun thing is not true and I’m medical student, so let me explain. Dental Carries (cavities) are causes by the break down of enamel by bacteria. These bacteria (streptococcus mutans mostly, but there are other ones too) are natural inhabitants of our mouths and build up throughout the day/night and form plaque around themselves to keep them safe. These bacteria create acidic by-products through their metabolic processes and the acid is what eats away at your enamel. Vitamin D creates STRONGER enamel, however if you don’t brush/floss the bacteria away it won’t really protect you all that much because the plaque is there protecting them and holding the bacteria+acidic metabolites on your enamel. But who am I? Liver king knows all
