I come from a Third World Country where traffic is terrible. The working class would spend an average of 2 hours of commute to go to work, and its even worse coming home... It's crazy to me that billionaires can have a morning routine like that! Where I'm from, people wake up at 4 or 5AM, get ready, do a few chores, then rush to work and pray that you get there on time. I don't have time to make tea from scratch or write in my journal or "breathe" LOL! It's a completely different world for us non-rich people.

Exactly, first of all billionaires constantly get asked by bullshit websites "WhAt iS YoUr MorNiNg RoUtiNe?!?" so they can write yet another clickbait billionaire morning routine article, so they are constantly having to think up interesting things to say when asked this question, so a lot of it is purely made up. But yes, the biggest problems a billionaire has to contend with are boredom and apathy, so a lot of them really do have crazy morning routines like this to help with the crushing depression of being a billionaire. Movie stars do the same thing, since every challenge and obstacle is removed from their lives, they need to fill it with ridiculous stuff like this to stop themsevles going insane. Only billionaires who have *already made their money* and are living off the profits from their investements live like this, the ones that are still working every day to make even more money just eat breakfast and have a shower like everyone else.

Most of these things are a part of solid routine, which is very benefitial for your health, but as you say, no way it's gonna make you billionare. This is a bit random, but I want to point out that the “three things I want to do” checklist is actually a really great move. In therapy I work a lot on setting very attainable goals, and making a checklist with a bunch of stuff on it is a lot more likely to be overwhelming, and not actually get done. Most of this coach bs is actually really helpful. You might make fun of them but I personally know a former procrastinator who started to get into this self help bs and his life really changed for the better, so that's when I kinda stopped laughing at this stuff. Is it ridiculous to necessarily take cold showers to start your day? Kinda, but if you're incapable of following such a basic task, you most likely won't be able to learn important skills, take care of your body and so on. These self help coaches are clearly not scientific but they don't need to. As long as they get the placebo effect going, that's all you need. Even those who preach that quantum physics is about positive thinking. It's totally bs, but if you set your mind to buy that shit, it's a perfectly fine way to cope with life and make the best of it. Will you become a billionaire? Nah. My friend didn't, but he stopped eating like a fat man and managed to get a good job in data analysis because of his self control and ability to be consistent with his studies.

If you're working a retail job for 8+ hours, just crossing three things off of a to-do list (like writing a chapter of your book or exercising or something) is so hard because you're so exhausted from the day, whereas billionaires don't have to worry about being drained from a day job.

I don't necessarily think it's that difficult. You're setting a goal too high if your using "Write a chapter of your book" as an example. People would typically do "Write something for the book". Many times, these goals are just 10-15 minutes from your day. There's plenty of times I'm just watching KZbin/playing video games after work that could be used more effectively. Things like "Do the dishes", "Take out the trash", or hobby-oriented goals like "Work on a sewing project for 15 minutes". The big thing is that goals can always be broken down to something more manageable.

Your right they, the rich, have all the leisure time in the world. When a worker wants time off to relax, especially in the USA, they are called lazy, slackers, or worse fired from their job. I feel this. When you struggle to even get up and do anything throughout the day, sometimes you need to even make getting up an accomplishment. Honestly the 'giving yourself 3 tasks to do' thing is actually something I agree with; it's just that those three things are the launching point of the day, and not all you have to do. Also journaling about that is just a little excessive for me, I just think of the three things I wanna do the next day before bed, it's only 3 things, why waste time writing them out. My issue is that my sense of time is terribly warped on how long certain tasks should take, so I put a lot of things off cause I don't 'think' I have time for them.

As somebody who interprets dreams as a hobby, I can actually help with that. It sounds like you’re stressed about sleeping in hotels rather than your own bed, with your girlfriend, in your home. Peeing in dreams can mean a lot of things (usually one of them is that you’ve pissed the bed for real) and the hotel is likely because you go on tours and do comedy shows. That was likely a dream indicating that you needed to take a break from live shows and spend more time at home!

something I find interesting is that a lot of these habits have been borrowed(?) from buddhism/other eastern practices, and their original intentions are more along the lines of" being well so you're able to help your community" and helping you live a more whole, balanced life. and then these guys come along and turn them into some way to win at capitalism. what's supposed to allow you to be of service to others and live a full life is being contorted to help people's greed. there's nothing inherently bad about wanting to wake up early, meditate, journal, read, etc, because those practices can be very helpful in maintaining peace of mind, but the intention of using them to increase your own capital beyond what's necessary, is really really sad.
@msthecommentator28632 жыл бұрын
It's funny you say that, because I was thinking something similar. My therapist dips into many Eastern practices when it comes to mental health, it's a great jumping block if you don't know how to mentally take care of yourself. So to see these stupid billionaires parade it around like it's the key to their ridiculous wealth is incredibly upsetting.
