Haaland is hamstrung by the tactical set up for sure. At Dortmund he WAS creating his own magic, running with the ball from half field, bullying defenders when through on goal, a transition nightmare. But in pep’s system he’s ONLY called upon for the final touch, so his game has gradually waned to just being a killer in the box with a lot of service. He has been misprofiled by pep which is a crazy thing to say, but true. If he were playing in a more fluid team in terms of playstyle, he would jump back into being the best striker in the world

He hasn't been misprofiled, yes that is the best version of haaland as a PLAYER but in terms of efficiency and longevity, the playstyle that pep has concurred for him fits him as the dortmund version was injury prone as many seem to forget, atleast this version of haaland allows him to play more and is more deadly when having the right players around him as Pep intended.

Obviously it would be even less in the PL, thats just the logical conclusion since its a much more physically demanding league. This system (when everyone is fully fit) maximises haalands biggest strength whilst minimising his work load. He literally does the lead running in the league and he still looks fatigued.

Starting Nunes for city i can only think of one reason why, im guessing they thought liverpool would go gung ho as they did and attack so having a midfielder on the wing meant he’d be better at controlling and passing the ball but liverpool are so defensively sound that they were happy to let city have the ball in periods which is different to klopp. Against Klopp nunes might’ve helped cus there’d be more space in behind if they beat the press but liverpool don’t commit forwards as much under slot so nunes was getting the ball with more time but him not being able to beat his man meant they had no creativity
