God, inject the start of this video into my veins. To point out one obvious thing, Howson is having it both ways. When it's young Liverpool/Academy players, experience is relevant, and Elliott is a technicality because he's an experienced, first team Liverpool player. Which is true! But to make the argument that Chelsea had a younger team and so Liverpool are on roughly the same footing, you have to ignore the fact that Liverpool were playing players with less than an hour of first-team game time in a cup final and just figure every under-23 is the same as each other. You either acknowledge that Chelsea was playing their first team, or you big up the average age thing without context, but not both. There's not a chance Rio or Howson says anything like this if it was United's injury-ravaged B team starting against Chelsea's first team, and then had academy reserves with little or no first team experience subbed on. If he just managed a grudging "Fair play, though I think the media is milking this, we won the same trophy last year" he'd probably lose fewer United fans in his argument and actually get under the skin of Liverpool fans a lot more. As it is, he's just made content for Liverpool fans to enjoy and United fans to cringe at.

Jesus Christ, so bitter. Deliberately picks Bradley, Elliot and Kelleher, when he knows full well that when people are talking about “won it with kids” they’re referring to the literal academy players in their teens that came on in the second half. The average age thing is a red herring as well. Yes, Chelsea have a young squad, but we had some veterans on the pitch like Virg and Endo that bring the average age up massively. Plus, Chelsea’s players may be young, but they’re all first team players with Prem experience. We were bringing on players that have never even started a Prem game and at best have come off the bench for a few mins here and there. Embarrassing comments, but i wouldn’t expect anything less from a bitter United fan.
