Great stuff Dave despite the eventual result. I think Colin Irwin must have thought not interfering with play applied to the defender there! Liverpool suffered from Alan Kennedy’s Easter Sat injury ; not that Irwin played badly at all.

Don't know if you're aware that ITV4 are supposedly showing season 1984/85 of the Big Match revisited from around the end of November onwards. I don't know how often Liverpool will feature but there may be a few bits of footage on there not readily available.

​@DaveWallerLFC the only two televised League games that we won in 84/85 that I can think of are Forest and QPR away, both 2-0 wins. I've not seen the Whelan' opener at Forest since the day of the game! We seemed to be featured in loads of games that season, but didn't win many :-(

Look away now but West Ham beat Everton 2-1 in a thriller after extra time on the same night in the other semi final. Strangely no talk of a possible Merseyside Final in both the Liverpool games so far.
