The nicest thing about this upload is the interview with Paisley and Robson , God rest them , I know it is a different era from many years ago but I can think of some Premier League era managers who could learn a few lessons from these 2 gentlemen about sportsmanship and modesty and good grace

I’m Sure Glen Hoddle used my Afro ( right side of the goal 🥅) as a spotter 💯 for that goal cause he had a shit earlier that missed n the goal he scored he knew exactly where to hit it

had a weird dream one time that Bobby took over after Kenny left in 1991. He still probably would not get the best out of Barnes but i would have liked him as a manager. Treated shabbily by the media.

It's probably nostalgia, but football back then seemed "purer" and far more raw. Love it, thanks for the upload. Hoddle's goal...wow!

I was stood on the Kop that day. Brilliant atmosphere, the first time I’d seen Liverpool win the league in person. Thanks, as always, for the upload, Dave

End of an era - the Anny Road (united will never be defeated) was seated after this. The media said that no one would dare touch the institution that is the Kop. Anfield tours as late as 1989 use boast to tourists that Anfield had no executive boxes as that would take space away from the real fans. The 50 year old pitch was ripped up in 1982. The groundman retired. And Peter Robinson saved 300 quid for the club by cancelling the hotel for the Middelsboro game which was next. The midweek Arsenal game mentioned here was a very vital game yet as far as I know - it was never shown on tv. Football had its place back then and was more peaceful. Not the endless talking heads we get now

That was the end of an era (17 and a half years)... the Basic all Red Strip, From November 1964 to May 1976 the white round neck, from August 1976 to May 1982 the white V neck ... That was The Best Liverpool Kit!.

use be half a dozen chants to that tune - my favourite. I learnt the Olde English original lyrics. it's my party piece for laughs. 'we're only warming up' 'Oh why are we so good' 'Your arse is on your face (to Clough)' It's nice to know you're here' 'Die you bastard die (to an injured opposing player)' 'There's only one way out' (to away fans)

Why was Clemence transferred? Was Grobellaar really better than him?
@DaveWallerLFC Жыл бұрын
Clemence decided to leave - it wasn't Liverpool's decision. It meant Grobbelaar had to play before he was really ready.
@randyborstol2491 Жыл бұрын
@@DaveWallerLFC always wonder why Ogrizovic was never rated. Seemed solid. Getty has a pic of John Smith at a reception for the 1980 Central League Champions and Oggy is in it - along with Sheedy, Lee, Harper, Gayle, Money, Irwin - Rush and Whelan around somewhere. Seems surreal now that Bob and Joe liked the circus act of Bruce.
@DaveWallerLFC Жыл бұрын
Any of Ogrizovic, Bolder or Hooper would probably have done a solid job. I agree that Brucie's antics seem out of keeping with the low-key way the club was managed, but I assume he kept his place because he was a better keeper than the others.
@eamonstafford2056 Жыл бұрын
Ray (and I say this out of the greatest of respect for the man) had to leave as he had got the babysitter (of a certain Liverpool comedian) pregnant. It is alleged he was chased out of Liverpool by some locally known identities. HIs wife told him he should leave as well. Pretty unfortunate really. Bruce was a really good keeper. Yes he had a howler in his early game against Manchester City with City winning 3-1 but he was very good for LFC. Don't think he was as good as Ray Clemence. Probably 3rd best behind Alisson and Ray. RIP Ray.
