Thanks Jonny! I actually realized after I replied back to you that I didn't really need to be on the water to make this video! I just turned the unit on in my garage and recorded the settings from there! But these are the exact settings I use every time I go out. Crawfish trapping this weekend, but hopefully back out on the water soon to get some shallow-water crappie!

Have you ever used the LVS32 transducer? Also, have you had any experience with your screen freezing or lagging while using livescope?
@HighQualityFishingVideos
@HighQualityFishingVideos Жыл бұрын
Hey, I sure have used the LVS32. I do get some lag or choppiness when I first turn on my unit but it usually goes away within 15-30 seconds. I have heard from others that overheating can cause those kinds of issues also but I've never had it happen personally. I drilled a lot of holes low on my portable case so the cooler air can come in from the bottom and the hot air can escape out the hole in the top.

@@HighQualityFishingVideos What was your experience like with the LVS32 combined with the GPSMAP 1022? That's the setup I have and its hit or miss, sometimes I can see fish & jig good - other times I can't see at all due to all the artifacts.

Hey, it actually wasn't my unit but fishing with friend's that had the 32 (it's what convinced me to go ahead and get livescope). I can't remember if they had the GPSMap units or different ones - one was a touch screen so I know that wasn't the gpsmap. It was honestly not much different from the 34 though. Maybe 30-35% noisier with "blobbier" images and much harder to see targets after you get past 50 feet. But we were catching a TON of fish with it. Now on Lake Darbonne, I've had two trips lately where I had to completely move locations because of the crud in the water. When there's too much algae/particles suspended in the water it's VERY difficult to see through it well enough with forward sonar to get a clear image. Those days, I will just move to different parts of the lake to find cleaner water. *You can tweak your settings to get a "good-enough" image to catch fish in that type of water but there's so many fish all over my lakes it's usually easier to just move 5 or 10 mins to find clean water. @@MrDereksykes

Thanks Dolla! For the whole setup here's what you'd order: * LVS34 + GPSMap1022 (I got mine in a bundle from Russell Marine - good site and never had an issue with anything ordered from them) * 30AH Lithium Battery * Summit Transducer Pole * MTM ammo crate (only if you want the larger box portable setup I've got) ** wires/connectors/splicing tape/solder for electrical connections

@@mackbeasley71 Thanks so much Dolla! In about 2-3 weeks you won't need any electronics at all to catch these fish. They're all about to be right up on the bank - spawn is almost here!!! Good luck if you do decide to take the LiveScope plunge though and reach out if you need any help with the setup! I can send pictures or videos of my whole setup and how I rigged everything up if you need it.

I don't know much about darboone...where would be a good place to start?
@HighQualityFishingVideos
@HighQualityFishingVideos Жыл бұрын
Hey LaYarddog, good to talk to you again! Right now this time of year you can either put a boat in just about anywhere and hit those cypress trees and stumps that are in the shallow water. Lots of spawning crappie around those right now. Stowe creek and the state park are ramps that are close to really good shallow-water crappie catching areas. And for anybody that wanted to bank fish instead of hauling the boat, you can do plenty of that over near the stowe creek ramp or out at the state park's big fishing docks and catch plenty that way also. Bream and catfish too! Good luck out there!

Noticed your forward range is always out to 40+ can you bring your range back so we can easily see your jig and the fish you’re targeting?
@HighQualityFishingVideos
@HighQualityFishingVideos Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Major! 40ft is about my minimum distance that I look out to but if bass fishing I will set it out to 70-100ft. I don't ever set it closer than 40ft though just because the fish are so skittish I'd miss out on a lot of opportunities if I set it any closer. *In this video I wasn't actually fishing though, just showing which settings I use. You probably already knew that but wanted to mention on the off chance you were trying to spot jigs/fish in this specific video.
