I am a Denver native, live in downtown near the Optiv tower in this video. I was lucky to be on the other side of the state in clear Grand Junction, CO on this date. As you can tell, this is not a big deal-people out on bikes, walking with phones, etc. It’s nothing compared to our blizzards-especially in ‘82. Yes, employers/schools think you’re a weakling if you can’t get out. The big danger is there are overconfident drivers taken in by fantasy-like ads about 4WDs-believe me, I have seen plenty of them in accidents due to ice-and many new residents who don’t know how to handle snow & ice. Even though you may be skilled, it’s these people who will run into you. Chains or public transportation is best on these days & that’s why it’s great to live downtown...you should have shown the poor souls in the burbs who have to dig out on unplowed & rarely driven side streets-been there, done that-it’s why I live downtown. Great thing is, next day the temp will be 70 degrees! CO gets more sunny days than CA or FL!

Our 3rd snow storm in Oct. the temp it is going to be 2 degrees above zero tonight, where the heck is that global warming???
@rickj19835 жыл бұрын
Apparently you don't understand global warming. As I explained to me by a meteorologist in Boulder, it mainly affects the jetstream which is like a very wide sine wave normally which gave the normal seasonal patterns we were all used to. Global warming shortens the wave such that our weather will fluctuate in wild patterns and more frequently. Our weather here in Denver has changed over the past few decades and is nothing like when I was a kid here. That's how I understood what the man said from the radio.
@johnw20265 жыл бұрын
@@rickj1983 Climate change, in all it's iterations, has always been a hoax. The "man from the radio" is just a highly paid, and somewhat educated idiot behind a microphone, and he's got you drinking the Koolaid, my friend.
@rickj19835 жыл бұрын
@@johnw2026 And you're the expert scientist I would guess? And you just happen to know the credentials of the person sitting behind the microphone. We do have the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory in Boulder and this person was from there. It has some extremely smart people working there. What are your credentials again??
@johnw20265 жыл бұрын
@@rickj1983 not my credentials, but God's: Nahum 1:3 in the Bible says "the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. " I don't dis all the weather scientists. I have a NOAA weather radio myself. I'm glad some things can be predicted. But God makes the weather, and the climate. Who is anybody to say this stuff is man made? They're ignorant, though they be college educated! Sometimes college education ruins people's common sense.
@rickj19835 жыл бұрын
@@johnw2026 Your response says a lot- no credible evidence. I believe in God as well, but there cannot be deniability about man affecting the climate with all of the stuff he spews into the atmosphere since the beginning of the industrial age. Have a good day.

Winter weather can happen anytime here, except July and August. The winter is the second best overall season. The majority of the time it's dry and mild, but not always warm. This is what happens at 5000 feet of elevation.
