Jared, you are a great teacher! One thing you said that has stuck with me especially when I'm taking a reversal is "Don't be the first one to jump off the boat in Normandy" lol. great job!

Using ATR to help predict a pullback is genius! I've only been using it to see if my targets are reasonable. You're the man Jared!

I think you are an excellent teacher, Jared. I have watched/paid close attention to 139 of your videos. This is an area in which I have no knowledge or experience, so I decided I would watch as much as I could to become comfortable with the main precepts, jargon, etc. I made a note of the "best" videos, and categorized them so that I won't miss the breadth and details of the subject matter. Now I plan to go back and make notes and also, at the same time start using a charting service, e.g. finviz, to become more adept at identifying good trade set-ups... etc. Just want you to know that your advice about looking at the charts as the best way to determine the truth about the market, has also prevented me from going to the next "shiny object" in terms of learning how to trade. My plan is to take your course --- and I am also very interested to know how to choose Options based on the stock data. Sorry to be so long-winded, but I thought you should know how highly I regard what you have taken great pains to share on your channel. Thank you.

Trading a choppy morning or day can most likely be a bad day, like going to the casino. I wait for a trending day. Sometimes taking the day off can make a more profitable week. Watch the initial balance and go with the initial balance break up(buy to open sell to close) or down(sell to open buy to cover), going long or short. Initial balance usually breaks to the upside or downside 30 to 60 minutes after market open. Watch the index along with the stock you are trading, the stock usually follows the index it is within, SPX or NDX, If it is not a cheap stock under 50 bucks.

Great Vid Jared, can u make a vid about waiting for pull backs and patience. I always seem to get faked out with smaller pull backs then get destroyed by another big pull back.

Jarod hits it on the head. I've been following for years and I've always loved the motto "you only need to win 50% at 2:1 to make 100%". This is not that market. Some days you can have tight stops, some days you gotta be willing to go for the ride but at a wider stop loss. Make no mistake the you need to fully understand and interpret what's in front of you which takes time, experience, pain, skill. It pains me to look at a trade and my stop is .40 cents then I cheap ass it and do .35 just to get stopped out at .42 before the trade goes the way I wanted it to. Lately the stops are wider than that. This video is what I needed. Shout out from Tempe!

*Hi Jared, on this one, when you suggest a 3R SL in case it really goes against you, should that 3R be no more than 2% of the total trading account size? Therefore, for a $600 loss and a $200 win, you should have a $30K account (you risk 2% of your account size when it goes against you), correct?*

@Jared: thanks for the video, great as usual! How long is your trading session nowadays? I remember days you were done in an hour... What you do when it goes nowhere for a long time? Close at the end of the day or earlier?

Question Ive been looking to get answered. When we are looking left for "junk" that could get in the way of our break out. Lets say on the daily. How far left should we look? Also does how far left we look depend on the time frame? Thanks.

Can anyone explain to me what he means by 1R or 2R?
@mikehikes3902
@mikehikes3902 Жыл бұрын
The "Risk to Reward" system. 1R is like risking $10 for a trade while shooting to make $10, while a 2R system you would be shooting for twice that ($20) while still only risking $10 total based on the amount of shares, the entry price, and the stop price.

I’m 52 and started about a year ago. I recommend taking the PTS course, then watch the videos over and over. Give yourself time to learn, don’t plan to make money for a year or more, but don’t give up. You will succeed if you listen carefully to these guys and work hard.

Do it! Like Jenb, I'm 52 years old, looking for a challenging way to spend the next 20 or so years. Have bought PTS, watch the videos and now tentatively getting to know Trader Workstation. It's going to take time, as I am doing it alongside my other career but I'm captivated by the concept of earning a little (or a lot!) on the side by developing logical reasoning, patience and organisational skills. Just to add, Jared, you're a diamond among the rough. Your no BS approach is captivating and inspires me to think and act the same way on my journey. Hope to rejoin the chatroom sometime soon, when funds allow..
