Hey girlie🧡 my friend recommend getting a comprehensive blood test to see my nutrient and hormone levels and I was VERY low on basically everything and high on certain things that shroud be low. A lot of people don’t know this but if your stressed out your cortisol increase which isn’t to greatest being that it’s a stress hormone. If it’s too high your body thinking it’s in survival mode and will not prioritize your period. Good luck babes🤞🏿

Those coasters were soooo cute! Also, I’m so sorry to hear about your health issues. When I was debating between accutane and tretinoin years ago my MD commented that a few of her patients had issues with their cycles, but that things turned back to normal with time. I have faith that you’ll be fine! 🍦🍦

Totally feel you about the doctors! I have swollen lymphnodes for over the rec amount of time which might be an autoimmune disease and it sucks not knowing! I feel the same way about birth control which is why ive never taken it either

As a gworly that had super abnormal menstruals and also hates taking meds I also was super hesitant about BC. I started with a pill and was terrible about taking it regularly so I got an IUD! There’s so many BC options that don’t require taking meds everyday and my IUD is copper so there’s no hormones (Kyleena IUD). As a black woman and health care worker, we definitely have to speak up for ourselves a little bit more to be taken seriously, and if the doctor refuses then make sure you have them record it in your visit summary and print the documentation out for you. Hope everything is okay!

When I had issues with my cycle a blood test showed I had really low iron (ultrasound was normal). Just in case it’s hormones/iron levels a blood test might be useful! Ended up supplementing with iron pills/diet and avoided BC ❤

Girl if you have PCOS (not trying to diagnose but just my experience) please do not go on birth control! I mean do the research because everyone is different but it is not a solution to the problem, which is actually blood sugar regulation when you have insulin resistance. I was on bc for almost 20 years and wish I had never started!
