30:00 as a therapist, I should say, that a therapist should never give you advice - it's what we learn over and over again. But that's true, that a therapist should question you, challenge you and make you think, give you exercises to do at home and do practices in the session.
@nicoleN199311 ай бұрын
I disagree I think it’s important for them to give advice. Not like “yea you should move”, but encourage the person to weigh out the pros and cons and unpack it etc I think it is also different with each client and what they are looking for in a therapist.

This was the best vlog ever. Having a horrible day, and this helped. Never ever need to apologize about not using overhead lighting, it’s awful. I LOVE that you keep the cozy lighting on during your vlogs, it makes them so peaceful. Hi! My hair fell out like crazy when I started losing drastic weight, and I can tell you that taking Biotin daily really helped after a couple months of consistent use. It is so worth it to start sooner rather than later, because I didn't start taking it until I was about 80 pounds down, and now I have SOOOO MANY baby hairs that I have to slick my hair back with gel when I wear it up. I have lost 147 pounds and it has changed my whole life, so I'm not mad about it, but I can't wait for my hair to look as healthy as it once was! Keep it up because you won't regret it!!

Sam, heads up on something about neurodivergence that I didn’t realize! We have a tendency to go ALL IN for a hobby and then drop it to move onto the next hobby. You end up spending loads of money on materials, so I figured I’d share the perspective. The hope is you can self-edit to hold back from purchasing all the things for the next amazing hobby. (Been there, done that too many times.) You have also made comments in the past about having a shopping addiction. It may not be an addiction, rather another example of neurodivergent behaviors. 😊

Loved this vlog! ❤ I took a step back from my socials and it's the best thing I've done. At first I didn't think it was a problem in my life but the hours I would spend, the money I would spend and the comparing mindset I developed was crazy. I came across this quote "Be where your feet are." And it honestly changed everything. Being present, grateful and thankful for my beautiful quiet little life has brought me so much peace. I don't feel the need to keep up with the grind, organization or aesthetic girlies and that is honestly so freeing. ❤

I haven't even started, but this video couldn't have come at a more perfect time. I start my spring semester tomorrow and will be going back to living on campus. Long story short, I had such severe anxiety being on my own for the first time (I'm in my early 20s) that I missed like 6 weeks of school last semester. I'm nervous about having another breakdown like that, but I've been working intensively in therapy for the last several weeks and really look up to Sam as someone who shares a lot of my mental health struggles. So thank you, Sam, for what you do. You make me feel like if you have the same struggles and you can do it, then I can do it too.

Yes our cat overgrooms from anxiety we have tried treats, feliway, giving her alone time, etc its to the point where she is grumpy with our other cats, she has pulled/licked out bare spots on her legs. You're not alone with Harlow, when you mentioned that, both my fiancé and I looked at each other haha as for what to do about it, we are taking her back to the vet. Let us know what you find out about Harlow too! Edit: attention helps a ton. Having one on one time and playing with her/petting helps. Cats arent as independant as everyone says

I'm sorry your pet struggles with this too, honestly even for half an hour or 15 minutes after work we play with our cat, and we are always offering pets and snuggles 💙 have you taken yours to the vet? Maybe medication would be helpful, I think thats what we have to do for our cat

My baby girl did this too 😔 when she said it I also got wide eyed. she passed a few years ago but at the time we lived in a veryyyyyyy cramped space and the dog of the house kept trying to come into our room (we wouldn't let him but her just hearing him at the door would be enough to stress her tf out) , I think everything at the time, her being so old, was just too much for her and she'd lick her legs and nibble to the point of pulling hair out/getting sores. It was awful. Nothing really helped but when she had alone time she was a bit more calm for a bit

You seem so much happier/CALMER than I have seen you in a long time and I love that for you soo much sam ❤️❤️❤️ I'm def a homemaker type too, it took me a lot of painful burnouts to learn that. The "mundane" is everything, when we can accept it and find joy in it, there's something that happens in our hearts, something very magical and powerful. Don't ever let anyone make you feel bad about the simple things bringing you peace, I know it's hard bc I struggle with it too, but in reality, theyre the only things that really matter. Life is just a million little moments. Like a million little stitches in your beanie, in the end it creates something so special 😁❤️ very proud and inspired by you, there's a lot in this video I could learn to implement in my own life as well, but like you say, baby steps. Anyway, I hope you get the house of your dreams, I hope you keep investing in your peace, and being kinder to yourself. I think we can all afford to do that a bit more each day. God bless you 💕💛🎀🌷⭐ ((also p.s you're bedding is GORGEOUS AND BRINGS ME SO MUCH JOY))

This may be cheesy but I went to sleep last night watching your video. Your words sticking in my head as I slept. I have a hard time sleeping due to back issues and barely slept but I woke up so excited. I decided to take myself out on my first date ever! I was in a 10 year relationship and forgot how to fill up my own cup. I lost all the things that made me happy. I lost myself but this year I promised to put me first. So thank you Sam for reminding me that we have to love ourselves as much as we love the people around us. Don’t let people discourage you, you matter to many people even to someone like me. Some tips from a crocheter: To get the perfect length for your head, chain until you have a length that goes from your eyebrows to the “top” of your head (think messy bun). Then start your beanie. To get less bulk when you sew the top, instead of doing half double crochets, single crochet the last 5-8 stitches. Keep crocheting until the piece is the circumference of your head.
