I have had a long distance relationship with my husband twice. first for 15 months, second for 5 months and then in our thirties and forties he had to travel 7 months of the year. 32 years later we are still together 😍

I think this a good opportunity to learn to be alone because at the end of the day the most challenging thing is to have a relationship with ourselves, we need to face ourself with ourself. I am sure you will miss your husband at times but enjoy this time of growth, it's worth it.

I really admire you for making decisions based on whats best for you both individually. At your age (I’m 50 now) i would have probably ran after my man thinking that was the right thing to do and not wanting to be apart from him but in hindsight I really wish I had been more thoughtful towards myself. Like you say, i think that would have made for a better outcome in the long run. Well done and enjoy this chapter.

Huge congrats to Kenny on the transfer and I think this is a wonderful opportunity for you both - it is great that you are able to spend this quality time with your parents as Kenny is with his mum; it is not common for adults to get that and it is quite a luxury. I am sure it will be really challenging to be away from your partner (especially newly engaged), but trying to focus on some positives. Thank you for opening up to us - we are here to support you on this chapter!!❤

Totally agree. I’m similar age to Hannah and also recently engaged, my partner & I are doing long distance (albeit in the same country) whilst we figure out where we want to buy & settle. He gets time with his mum & I get time with my parents, which I’m cherishing daily. A rare luxury indeed.

Talking from experience and two long-distance relationships later (Germany - USA): Is it tough ? Absolutely. Does it keep the relationship fresh ? Yes. The hardest thing for me was being separated from 'my' (his) 2 lovely dogs when I was away - which made me volunteer at my local shelter as a dog-walker which I do to this day. Best decision ever ! 💛 Whatever we need to do to protect our minds - that's what we need to do. Wishing you the best ! 🌿

Hi, Hannah; I’ve been living on my own for the past four months now, and it looks like I will be for the foreseeable future. During that time, your vlogs Have really helped me when I felt lonely. I’m so grateful, and hope that, like me, you will soon start to feel happier in your situation. I read a magazine article a while ago, and this lady described living on her own as being able to “edit the day as she feels like it“. I think that’s a lovely way to put it -do as you please, when you please. Looking forward to sharing this next part of your life journey with you x😊

Me and my boyfriend of 5 years have just started being long distance about 3 months ago. What you said about making short term sacrifices for long term was the exact reason we made that choice too. It’s nice to have the time apart to grow as individuals too :) I feel like it will be an adjustment but once it’s been abit of time you will thrive!!

I know living alone for the first time is challenging, but you seem like you are strong enough to handle it. My husband is in the United States Army, and he has been deployed 4 times since we met 18 years ago. Some days are easier than others, but I feel like you have a lovely family that you can count on, which is fantastic. I have a daughter around your age, so as a Mum I'm sure your parents will be supportive any way they can. 😊

It was so good to watch this video and hear your updates, Hannah. I was worried when you uploaded less during December and felt a major change must be coming. None of us here know you in person, but through your channel we have come to care hugely. We were all hoping you were okay. It's so encouraging for the future that you and Kenny are making all the big decisions together and are forward-thinking enough to know short-term pains will lead to long-term gains. Although it's sad you are apart for a while, there are still lots of things you can do to keep the closeness from afar. The time will pass quickly as you keep yourself busy and embrace the empowerment of living alone. We are all with you and are looking forward to being a part of your next chapter ❤ x

I've been with my partner for almost 8 years now, 5-6 of those years were mainly long distance. We have been living together for the last 2 years now. What really helped me get through it was to keep working towards our goals and remind ourselves of what our end goal was (being able to live together was ours)! Planning upcoming trips really helped too as we looked forward to these each time. I know it won't be easy but you will find solice in the little things along the way. Am in India and a relative recently went to Thailand for typerating of his pilot degree. He said Thailand is full of Brits, more than half his class was also from UK.. they love the food, cost of living, weather etc, so Kenny will have plenty of company. But coming from a warm country myself, I would take UK’s cold weather over Thailand any day. But I may be the only one😀 hang in there though.. it’s just a blip in the grand scheme of things, I was away from my husband for a whole year on work and he moved to his parents’s house temporarily for a year to take care of his dad who was suffering from cancer, we barely remember the separations now and have been together for 14 years… all the best ❤

I resonate with you, Hannah and I think the ability to make hard decisions together despite the fact that you both will have to live apart for a time shows so much about both of you and your relationship. You've built a strong bond and deep trust in each other while also respecting that you have to grow individually to achieve the life you want to live as a couple. I'm from Thailand and live in the UK with my husband - When I decided to live here, we knew there was a chance I would have to go back to Thailand, or he had to move somewhere for career opportunity, so I completely understand how difficult this decision is, but I'm glad you are happy and excited about the future. Best of luck to Kenny with his career and to you adjusting to a new life chapter! (I didn't realise Kenny is half-Thai!) (Secretly waiting for Thailand/South East Asia vlog when you get a chance to visit him xx)

Thank you for sharing your experiences, I have a great trip for you, stay busy, don't stay alone very long, it's not good, the worst experiences in my life came from being alone. It's good to spend time doing things alone but not to stay stagnant or spend too many days alone. If your looking to do in-network & self exploration that's great for a day at a time. So, watch out for negative thoughts and feelings. Don't dwell on the negative stay positive. Keep yourself busy it's the best thing you can do for yourself. All the best to you! Much light, love & blessings!!❤

It is wonderful that you and Kenny have amazing opportunities to look forward too, to build upon your coming marriage and life together. My husband and I too had a long distance marriage for 5 years - his job opportunity was one where we together decided it was for the good of our future. Take advantage of the technology you have today cell phones, texting and FaceTime, we didn't have that in 1996 just email. This year we will celebrate 41 years.

I am currently doing long distance with my boyfriend - we were also a 'covid couple' and had lived together for a year and a half before an opportunity came for me to work in Dubai. It's now been 18 months and although it is difficult at times I think focusing on the end goal is the main thing that gets you through. This suggestion may be different than others, but when my boyfriend and I were long distance one thing we did was play video games together. You don't strike me as the gamer type and I'm not sure if Kenny plays any games, but its a really good way to spend time together when you run out of things to talk about. You're still hanging out and having fun, working together towards something, etc. If he left behind an xbox/ps4/pc you could get a live subscription and play with him in real time. It keeps things fun when you're apart and the days are dragging! I can think of a few games if you're interested!

I feel for the both of you. Long distance can be a challenge and I have never had to do it from different countries. If it helps, my husband and I got married and then found out that we would be separated by about 90 minutes, but both in super busy things. We were on our honeymoon when we found out. It was a difficulty but we made it work and we have been married almost 34 years (and four children later). Sometimes life gives us challenges that ultimately grow us into a stronger couple and stronger individuals. I hope that this is a time for you to become more comfortable being alone and get to enjoy traveling to see each other. And who knows, maybe you will move there for a part of it. I hope Kenny does well and enjoys his time there. Do you plan to ultimately move back into this home together? It is so lovely that you are so close with your family there. I’m glad they are staying with you through this adjustment. And it is normal to feel the stress. Remember that all change is stressful regardless of whether it is good or bad change. So give yourself the grace to be okay with that part of it. You will be just fine and have a wonderful life together to look forward to. Congratulations on the engagement!

All the very best to you. My husband and I had to live apart for close to 5 years while he had to work in other state (in US). It IS do-able! And you are always nice and upbeat because you are so happy to talk to each other! Snail mail is fun too. You forget that time too, once he returns, it is like he was not gone at all. Stay focused on work, studying, and get a pet!

So so so excited for this next chapter for you! I selfishly got sad thinking you'd move to Thailand too (and the cozy vlogs would change), but this makes me so happy 🤍 also your hair looks so long and stunning!

You will be ok, Hannah. I live on my own - well, with my dog. I wouldn’t be without her! I’m not in a relationship but yours is a strong one and it’s so much easier to stay connected these days. You will make it work. You have a busy life and plenty to focus on and it’s all working towards your end goals individually and as a couple xxx sending you lots of love xxx

Couples need space, to be their own person. When it's too suffocating, you get so lost in the other person, you forget who you are and it could be scary. The best saying: "Love in such a way where the person you love feels free."

My boyfriend and I have been in a long-distance relationship for 5 years before being able to finally move together a few months ago. It wasn’t a crazy distance like yours, but still. And I can tell you that yes, it can often be veeeery hard, but if you decide to see it as an opportunity to get to know yourself and focus on you, it can also be a great experience for both. Best wishes for this new chapter✨❤️

My husband worked away for many months at a time, many times over the years and I was alone with three small boys. We have been married 42 years now. It can be a bit lonely sometimes but it is for your future. You have family not too far away for support. FaceTime etc will see you through.

I hope you're adjusting to the long distance well, I'm at uni and I only see my boyfriend from back home every other week and I can't imagine not being able to see him as often as I do, I get so upset when he's not around. But distance makes the heart grow fonder, we've been together for a year and a half and it is absolutely manageable, if anything this will make you stronger individually and together

My husband of almost 24 years and I had to spend one year apart while I finish school abroad before we were married. It was difficult but it really showed me that we were really meant to be. We went through some trials and we stuck through it. I’m happy to say we are still happily married. So I hope that gives you and anyone else a bit of encouragement 🤗

My husband and I did long distance for a few months, we had 'date nights' where we could face time each other while coming the same meal, eat it together and then watch an episode of Brooklyn 99 together. It helped
