T or C is on the edge of Elephant Butte lake, great place to live or visit. Epitome of small town living. Come to cause trouble, the sheriff has a famous quote. Come on vacation, leave on probation. Enjoy it here. It’s warm, but not Arizona hot.

I just came across this place on google maps, saw the old west buildings and assumed this would be some cowboy town that took its name from a famous stand off. It really is nothing like I expected..

We stayed in T or C for a few days in the spring of 2012 (yeah it has been that long) as a base for exploring southern NM. We stayed at The Charles Resort in the hot spring district. We drove to Silver City over Rt 152. When it takes me over 2 hours to drive 50 miles that is a great back road in a small car. Don't try it in a big motorhome. IMHO if you are looking for a place to stay while exploring South Central NM, T or C is hard to beat.

just a super little town. hubby and i stayed at rocket inn which was wonderful. great restaurants, really nice supermarket, museums etc. i would love to return. do stop in if you are in the area. it is such a surprising little town with neat people who are on the right track in life.
@lespaul56286 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't recommend living there though as I did for a while. Those "great restaurants" or many other shops for that matter never last. Unless you're talking Denny's or McDonalds, they inevitably end up closing their doors, except maybe the museum or those touristy nick-nacky places that the locals never visit. There are friendly people there, but also a lot of crabby people. The place is mostly retirees and the disabled. Also the biggest thing in that whole county is a Walmart. If you're wanting to go to something bigger like a Best Buy, you are making a 75 mile trip to Las Cruces
