NEVER blindly trust a mooring ball. Charter out of Phuket April '24... when the wind picked up to ~25 kts we AND the Mooring Ball went for a very nice drift.

1. That salt water cat fish can stung you like lion fish. But good eating fried with tumeric powder and salt. The crab you open the shell and clean the gut, can also be fried like the fish. Simple cooking.

Lol! Firstly, you guys are both awesome and you're want to openly have discourse is awesome! That being said, if you want a thing, ask. Saying, "Gee it's cold in here" and expecting someone to translate that to, "Could you close that window" is asking too much. Lots go on in people's heads at any given moment and if you expect your wants to be put to the front, say what you mean. That's all. Lots of thoughts...help a person out if you want help...

Those are baby crabs, take about 100 to fill a normal plate once you start taking the meat out of shells.

Let the fish go, Catfish are not for eating.... Locals wont give you poisonous crabs, but yes, better be save then sorry.

The Wandering Hillbilly (catamaran) unfortunately tied up to a mooring ball that broke loose a few months ago. It pushed his boat to shore and beat it up. Still have to be careful.

Guess your not from Northern Wisconsin where catfish are in the old mudd lakes. They are the first thing you will catch. Place called the muck gardens and Indian flowage. Yes carp as well but those more Green Bay and south. Thanks for being here. Capt W .

Seen a couple of mooring boy balls that have come detached .. just floating free .. very bad idea if you dodnt check its still attached .. even then the chains or ropes can deteriorate .. the other problem....is how heavy is the actual mooring block and what is it made of. 😬🫣
