As someone who lived in my car I’ll say this I was homeless, and in a toxic marriage, I survived, and it was my most fearful yet most proud moments in my life. I am proud to say I made it through that chapter in my life. I would shower in the mornings at the gym, and if I had to do it all over again to keep my peace and sanity I would 👌🏼

How long did you live out of your car? I'm worried afterwards, when it's time or desire to rent/own, if the rent and all other bills (utilities, etc.) Makes one never want to leave the road, which is okay too!

I've been wanting to come on KZbin to get some ideas and tips of living in my car. The craziest thing is the gym membership. A friend suggested doing that to take a shower and I use the shower every time (but after I get a good workout in) then the idea about the window cover, is a good idea, I'll need to buy something like that. The next thing was the rotating the sleeping spots. I'm not sure if sleeping in your car is illegal here in Massachusetts, but I like the idea of switching overnight because of staying low key. But thanks for your post.

Every week I see your KZbin subscribers have grown significantly. That just shows how awesome you are. Never any thumbs down too! Keep up the great work. Also, just one last thing. I am not a scientist. But I knew someone once, who's brothers friends uncle knew Albert Einstein. He told me that there's a secret society of underground fish that clack the bones together at 2am every night in remembrance of the great Allinav Assyla, The Great Ocean Princess. They say that she is going to return one day, after she travels the world. But she assured them that she would always think about them as they clack the bones at 2am. Anyway, that's the story. Don't know if there's any truth in it.

@nomaderic2 жыл бұрын
I know being a woman is different than being a man as far as safety but I heard you mention staying at rest stops and truck stops. There are so much better and safer places to stay than that. It sounds weird but if you're in a city it's so easy to just blend in. You draw way less attention to yourself. A great example is a park n ride. It will be a big parking lot full of cars and you can just blend right in... there's actually one in the denver area I can sleep at every single day and nobody would suspect a thing. Besides that places like quiet residential streets where you see other cars parked, such as close to apartments. Alot of people make the whole nomad sleeping way more difficult than it is. 99 percent of people don't know or care if you're in your car. I can go to a parking lot right now and spot like 5 different car lifers but the average person wouldn't even know. Blending in is the key.

@truthorconsequences54703 жыл бұрын
@Neil I can't give any advice pertaining to number 2, but I have a Luggable Loo in the back of my Camry (I took all my seats out), and only use it to pee in. My windows are totally blacked out in back, and I use the window mesh covers that she shows in the front windows, plus a sunshade in the windshield. I have Pine Sol which I buy for $1 at Dollar Tree, and wash out the Luggable Loo in the early AM (when no one is around), for $2. I never get out of my car at night either. I push my Camey seat back and raise it, then I scoot over the console to the back, where I have a 4 inch gel/foam cot mattress, which I bought from Camping World. I also bought a fitted sheet for cots from Ebay. I'm happy! And I also wear a lanyard with my car key around my neck, as I chronically lock myself out of my car! 😆🤣
