Your a Good Man Anthony. as a professional contractor that stuff was not designed for foot traffic and unfortunately it will rip especially with winter coming. I definitely appreciate you and your creativity. You have a great personality. That stuff is designed to install Waterproof vinyl plank flooring over top of it . The flooring cuts easy with a Multi tool . You could by rights return the tool when your Done .We use that product on basement walls as a vapor barrier to prevent moisture issues. I’m sorry to have to tell you but winters coming fast.

Hey, Anthony you're going to need a carpet or some flooring down over the reflectix because it will tear. You did a great job with your counter and bed.
@Inthesouth2
@Inthesouth2 Жыл бұрын
If you put reflextix down you will see it will start pulling apart and crumbling. Put it under the carpet for insulation. Put the large board then the refextix then the carpet. Then put in your table and bed. Use some L brackets to put some shelves in under your table.

Hi Anthony. I don't know how long Reflectix will hold up on the floor where you're walking on it. But it's certainly worth a try! In my minivan I have the floor covered with interlocking foam squares like you'd use in a kitchen or gym. Because I live on my knees in there, and the padding really helps. If the Refletix doesn't work, you could try that next.

Thank you again, Anthony. I'm learning from you. People don't understand that there are many like us that just tackle a job without first researching and researching again and double checking everything that it becomes exhausting & boring & no fun at all. I personally become impatient if I don't go in full charge - picking up the pieces as I go. Makes the day go by fast, keeps your mind entertained. I guess I'm a little bit like MacGyver - take what's available & make it work.🙂

Lawd have mercy...the mylar reflection will create moisture along with the butane,boiling water steam and freeze a home for mold...walking on that with socks and bare feet is like a slip and slide if you spill anything and lose your balance watch out for your head,back,and possibly a broken leg or foot...it peels,flakes, and pools water in the grooves if you tear just a bit of it It can water rot the wood you made your bed with, and destroy the insulation of a perfectly good van...There are plenty of van builds on KZbin where people build as they go...lookup budget van builds on the tube...if not...get a ⛑ helmet...to protect your head if you slip and fall...(I pray it never happens...)

The sound of your new floor would drive me crazy everytime I would walk on it......I would get some black carpet that they sell on a big roll at home depot....have them cut the length you want... So it would prevent the noise and you wouldn't make dents in the reflectix.

You may end up using the extra reflectives to cover windows to prevent moisture build up and to keep the van warmer. Some people glue it on the back of poster board from dollar tree and the board can be sprayed black. When these boards are cut to fit each window they help to keep the van warmer and cooler. Amazing the things we learn as we go. Don't ever get discouraged.

Anthony. I suggest going to Lowes or Home Depot and buying vinyl sheet flooring. They will cut it to size and buy or borrow a staple gun and staple it down to your sub floor on the under side of the wood. So get it cut 2 or 3 inches wider all around. Leave that padding on too. You won't have to replace it for a long time and is durable and easy to keep clean. That stuff you put there is not gonna last exposed.

Anthony, not sure how the reflective will hold up with friction of walking on it. I would cover it with a rug as the rug will provide extra warmth AND protect the floor. Also, I would keep the extra reflective to line the inside of the van for extra insulation. You can always put a curtain up or spray paint it so it won’t be so bright or noticeable. Also, it can be used to insulate windows. PA and MD gets quite cold in winter. I would insulate the heck out of the van. I would also get som hooks, strong Velcro and bungee cords to secure things in place while driving. Just a thought. 🥰

Thanks for the video, I’m actually learning something. When my kids are grown, I might get me a van. ❤

I am afraid that that reflective thing wont last long under your feet. Also there is lot of usable space if you tear down the plastic walls of the van which you are covering with your bed and table making the storage space useless.

That's what I just left him like three messages and he always gets mad at me but I'm sorry I'm called reality I told him I worked at home Depot and Lowe's and floor and wall That's not meant to be walked on at all that's that's why it goes under a subfloor because it's protected then it's just it's just a very it's it's a it's just it is just meant to insulate something not to be walked on I don't know where he thinks because he likes the color of it I mean that just sounds so crazy who would do such a thing it's going to be ripped up in a couple weeks he's going to be it's going to be all over everything it's going to be all over his van it's going to be a complete mess it might last a little longer than that but not much longer that's not meant for that I don't understand I'm not trying to be mean but it just sounds I mean didn't anybody tell him at home Depot just wants to do what he wants but he's wasting money and time and effort because it's not meant for that

Those items beneath the table will need bungee cords to keep them from sliding.

The reflective padding looks very nice on the floor. It should be warmer and easier to keep clean. Continued blessings Anthony and I am ready for the reveal.

Anthony these comments don't think reflective best option for floor. How you feel about it, maybe a small runner in middle . Great video and great comments I think I can build out van now just from comments 😂😂😂
