Welcome to the Garage. I am Scott and this week my wife Sherah and I are on her first big overland adventure. We are heading to Kentucky to help one of the kids move. On our way we stop at the St. Louis Arch Missouri, and then camp in Illinois. We roll into Pikeville Kentucky the next day. Along with helping the kids unpack, we get to have a couple of smaller adventures. We then say our goodbyes and head to the Ark Encounter Williamstown Kentucky. While we are driving North our adventure heads south. We drive up to Indiana to camp for the night. Unfortunately, the campground we booked the spot at…. were less than honest about their facilities. They said they have “a really nice shower house,” upon arrival we found that did not have a shower house…and the bathrooms were port-a-pottys. Needless to say, we did not stay. We spent the next hour or two looking for anywhere to stay. We were very lucky and found Clifty Falls State Park. We were able to get their last electrical spot to set the camper in. We were nervous about how crowded it was, but it ended up being one of best places we stayed at. The next day we put even more miles behind us and found the last camp spot for the night. This was horrendous!!! Most of the spots were not level, picture campers of all sizes (including out tear drop) with the jacks/ tires on stacks of leveling blocks, and the trailer tongues almost setting on the ground! Then to top that off, the vault toilets were disgusting, and between their smell, and the smell of rotting fish and trash in the dumpster, made the camp spot even worse. After having everything level and eating dinner, we hooked the camper back up and relocated to a vacant spot across from the shower house. Once there we were quite happy. It’s funny, the same campground and a polar opposite experience based on the site. The last morning, we woke up and made the final 6-hour drive home…almost without incident. Time to fix the campers wiring! As always, thanks for watching. If you would like to see more content like this, please consider subscribing.
