No bikinis on your mountain???...oh my, how will your channel survive?? Thanks for the lovely visit BossMan. The snow covered forest sure is pretty, but it does bring along it's share of work. You and Lori handle it well. Your tough folks and set a great example of just doing what you need to do, and loving life in the process. Thanks for sharing your journey. Have a great weekend and God bless you and your family. Continued prayers for good health.

In Newfoundland, people used to use root cellars built into a side of a hill, it kept their garden veggies and Potatoes fresh all year long. Cool temps maintained all year long. Boss you might have seen some while you were in Labrador! The outport fisherman used fish and seaweed (Kelp) as natural fertilizer.

I am older than you and have a bigger farm operation, but you make me Laugh at myself. My green house is about 24 x 50 and the vegetable garden is nearly an acre. We all so have cattle and chickens. All that said I have 4 mennonite families here helping me. We also grow several small fields of grain. 3 acres of winter red wheat. 5 acres of oats. 2 acres of field corn. We also put up about 1000 6 foot bales of grass hay. Mostly to sell. We buy rice and dried beans in bulk. We have 6 bee Hives so far. I am in Northern Arkansas just below Branson Missouri. I do not have a KZbin channel so in the evenings I watch people like you? 👍🤗

I was guilty of complaining about the winters so we moved to NC for 14 year's as soon as the kids were grown and gone we headed back to the PA mountains on land we kept and built a new 1000 square foot house/cabin to retire. Nothing like having zero neighbors and traffic and feeling the warmth of the wood stove in the winter and the mountain breezes in the summer, no more A/C for me.

My greenhouse was built with "just" enough room for a small table and a couple of chairs, I find the area totally enchanted, you enter from the cold wet freezing mess, to a tropical wonderland, it still amazing after many years. I listen to books on tape while gardening or writing. You got to expand just enough for this pleasure. I didnt build it with this in mind, but after seeing how great it would be, I somehow wedged it all together. I can kinda tell in your voice, you also see the advantage. Cant be to hard its wood !!! Hear you loud and clear on the perspective topic, Jim, and couldn't agree more. If it brings contentment and joy how can it not be worth it whatever it is? You'd never ever sell a fishing or hunting license if you applied that metric to it. My dad worked a green house part time for about 20 years and full time for the final 15 years of his career at the local paper mill. He was never happier than being in the greenhouse. When he retired the company gifted it to him. He brought it home and ran it for another 10 years. You bet it's worth it.

I had a camp neighbor who used a water pump to fill his water barrels. The incline would have been 65 - 70 degrees and the distance the water was pumped would have been 200 feet. It didn't take long for the pump to fill two of those big blue plastic drums. And of course there was the day that the pump stopped, the water flowed back down the hill and gave my neighbor a shower from head to toe! So beware.

Here’s a tip for the green house floor. Salt pour rock salt on the floor it will get crushed in the rocks and nothing will grow on salted earth. The salt will leach in the floor into the dirt. Now you will have too repeat this for two seasons then every other year and I have yet to have anything grow up in the green house. Dad thought me that back in the early 1970’s. I like your prospectives!!!

Hi, so I am a ASE mastertech. The 40 jeep are known for crank sensor issues. When the signal goes too low, it will shut off the injectors and ignition. There is a three wire connector on the top of the intake manifolds number 6 runner. Usually, all you need to do is unplug it and reconnect it a couple times, this will clean it enough that it will start to work again.

Hey my friend... The addition of the tire no the back of your rig while pulling the other was quite wise and thanks for passing it on... we have had to do that several times... we were at the top of the mountain as a family doing firewood one year and my son was a new driver. His truck was acting up and I just had that mother’s instinct kick in and decided I would drive his truck down the mountain and still PRAISING God. Got about 3/4 of the way down the mountain (another BIG PRAISE this didn’t happen further up the mountain) the brakes on his truck gave out on his fully loaded down rig. Thankfully I did not need to bounce it off the mountain to stop her and the emergency brake was enough left to get her stopped and the grade in the mountain at that point surely helped, but I had a heck of a ride home once I was connected and being pulled with no brakes... I totally get Lori not wanting to be behind the wheel - I have had to do it a many of a time eeesh it is always quite the ride lol. A little funny too - our new off-grid tiny cabin is the same size as your Greenhouse lol 12 x 16 - it is perfect and cozy. Our greenhouse this spring will be bigger than our house lol can’t wait to get my hands dirty in the soil! God bless guys! Love ya’s

I grew up in northern Scotland and the weather was very much like what you experience there. Now though sadly, the past couple of decades have seen such a decline in snowy winters it's a rare thing if snow lasts more than a week or two and people have become so soft they panic at the sight of it! :/ I'm old now and live in Ireland. I've seen more snow here in the past year we've been here than in Scotland the past few years. And it still doesn't last nor get so deep as there. So I'm hugely envious. I LOVE snow and the feeling it brings with it, that soft quietness, the pristine clean beauty of a fresh fall and being at home in front of a roaring fire, hot drink in hand. You live a beautiful life and so obviously love it. That's a rare thing in today's world. And it's why I watch you vids! Please keep on making them.
