Are you planning on moving to Florida? Or recently moved... what’s your impression of the cost of living??? This video is my personal experience but who knows where in Florida we will someday end up so give me all the feedback if your experience Is different to mine! Or if you have any tips to save money in Florida! 💰🥰

Rosie, you are absolutely correct on all your stated facts in this video! I live in central Florida, and am a ex pat Brit from the Isle Of Wight and I agree with everything you have said! I would say that anyone thinking of moving to the US and Florida need to know the things you have stated. I also still struggle with the hot weather and humidiy . And I bet you have found out but just in case you haven't. Target do Marks and Spencer Christmas food in December!!!😄

Thank you for your informative video. We moved from Leics to mid Florida in 2012. Food is definitely cheaper in the UK. We can’t wait to move back to the UK. Missing family, friends, the NHS and much more. Florida is nice but it is so hot and humid the majority of the year which makes it difficult to be outside. Cost of living has really increased since 2021 too. Every where has its pros and cons but after nearly 10 yrs living in Florida, we welcome returning to the UK. Wishing you and your family all the best here in FL. 😊

Interesting perspective on living in Florida which I don’t totally agree. You say no property tax in England but they have poll tax. Gas prices are cheaper here but there is no public transport system here like England so you have to have a car here to be comfortable. Our house insurance is $7000 with a high deductible for a four bedroom house. But it’s all worth it to live in the Sunshine state ☀️
@rosiealice6855

What’s poll tax? I don’t remember paying that in England lol! That’s true! Although that was my comparison as I was comparing to driving in England vs Florida, but yes, no public transport here for sure.

I enjoy your videos and love FL, there was a time in 2010 when was seriously considering buying a rental, but decided not to because of property insurance, maintenance, and property tax ( Council tax).@@rosiealice6855

Great and useful.We are retired and thinking of spending more time in Florida as most of my famile are living in Tampa, St Cloud, Orlando and New York.Woyld you advise how long to spend and how and what is the best time, of year. We would like our winter months as I do not care for the cold anymore. I also worked as a nurse.My niece is still working as a nurse in Tampa. Many thanks. Sylvia Jones.

Property Tax! But here in the U.K. we have Community Charge No mention 🤷 and you said food was Cheaper please let me know where you shop? I’ve lived in Miami for 10yrs and the cost of fresh foods and Basic supply’s is almost Double on what you’d pay in 🇬🇧 U.K. My utility’s here in Florida is Horrendous but then I’m Running AC. My property Tax is currently $7,600 Per year.
@rosiealice6855
@rosiealice6855 2 жыл бұрын
What’s community charge?? We shop at multiple places depending on what type of food we’re buying e.g. Costco for meat, Aldi for fruit and veg and we recently started going to our local farmers market for fruit and veg which is super cheap and great quailing. We are an hour from Orlando in a small town which I’m sure would be a difference in cost compared to a city like Miami which I think I mentioned. Yes I think I mentioned utilities are cheaper in the UK including things like home insurance as I paid £30 a month for home insurance whereas we pay well over $1000 here but I understand as of the weather conditions are different. Our property tax isn’t nearly that high so it must me the location you are in compared to me as we are around $2700.

Thank you for a lovely comment! City vs suburb is similar to England/everywhere else. City you get paid more but higher cost of living etc. although being in Florida if you live in the city you are still not far from the beach which is nice! I’m personally not a city person which is why we live in a small town. I like where we live because it’s a small town but we are 40 minutes away from Orlando & Disney so you get the best of both worlds in my opinion! 😄

How could I forget this of the video! I’ll have to do a separate video on this 🤣. Yes huge difference! Although you come across your wild people in both countries, generally Americans are much more polite and easy to talk to. I notice this a lot more especially when we go to England on holiday. People out here say excuse me when you’re shopping, say hello when you’re walking around the park etc. there is a big difference!
