I've lived here for 6 years. Love this community! Especially the main street - the restaurants and bars all have designated outdoor seating in the warmer months. (I realize that this became a thing for most restaurants because of COVID, but Keene's always had it - it's part of the main street vibe.) Summer days are beautiful, spent eating delicious foods outdoors on the main street with your favorite drink.

Hi…do you know of any nice areas to move to? Thinking about buying a small house or condo as a second house.

Just visited Keene and it was beautiful all the way around. Everyone walking by spoke to me and smiled. If you’re looking for a good brunch buffet you HAVE to try Tempesta’s omg it was sooo good and they had EVERYTHING! It’s connected to Best Western. You will thank me later!

Lived in Keene in the 1950's. Loved it as a kid. KSC was Keene Teacher's College then. Lived across from the college in an apartment on Winchester St. Then moved to Edgewood. As a kid I loved the brutal winters; no snow days even when the temperature was -20F. We were told that Keene had the widest paved main street in the US; don't know if that's still true. Even though I only lived there seven (7) years, I still consider Keene my home town.

We moved here 7 years ago and LOVE IT. The colleges keep the city fun, and you are allowed to use their library if you have a city library card. There are flat hikes, in fact most of the city is flat, which is unusual! Bike trails you can walk or bike. Also do know there are fabulous small employers, that have been in families a long time. Fun little parks just hidden everywhere! And when it snows, we don't worry as the city clears it up and you can even walk from almost anywhere to pick up food or necessities. Don't forget to look at all the Wall Dog Murals to learn the long and incredible history of Keene.

Born and raised in Keene! Lived here until I was 23 and attended KSC. The absolute best place to grow up. We moved to Asheville NC for better career opportunities and comfortable weather. It was very hard to try to find a sustainable career in Cheshire county after graduation.

The average cost for a starter or retirement home in Keene is now around $300.000.00. Good luck finding a home for 200,00.00 as mentioned in the video. I left Mass to move here recently.

Keene is New Hampshire's best kept secret, and we like it that way. No mobs of tourists. One correction, the largest percentage of the population is not 18-24. That stat must have included Keene State students, who don't live here year 'round. And some of the photos, including the snow photo at the end, aren't Keene.
