Lmao in the picture introducing Rochester you can see the house I lived in when I was younger(very top left house) I forget the name of the park but the orphanage is on the right and the road at the bottom of the Pic that you can't see is main street that runs through downtown Rochester 😂 I've had many birthdays and easters at that park and the baseball field at the top which was right across the street from my house always turned into an ice rink during the winter. Edit: the park is named "the commons"

Funny how they have Claremont on the list, I’ve lived here most my life and it’s literally nothing, you might get your new bike stolen if you don’t lock it but that’s about it

How autumn is killed by winter,it's beautiful to live in around the snow. The most pain is felt ,its due to drop of temperature. Before winter it's like living in fairyland, when we will cross the winter and reach the end of March ,the spring will be buzzing sounds musical.Anyway it's beautiful video,I m from Pakistan

It's funny when I see people complaining about places being shitholes yet they probably never traveled too far from their respective state or city. Some places are truly like this don't get me wrong but most are truly not as bad as what people say and some have rose colored glasses on and only remember the good of years ago and forget the bad during those years. From my research and my experience I rather live in Manchester than many of the so called nice areas to live like where I am currently in Arizona where everyone gushes over how "liveable" it is here when rent was around $1k for a one bedroom a few years ago and now i struggle to find one in a decent area for less than $2k trust me Manchester is doing just fine in comparison to other places I've been to.

I've lived in Nashua since 2020. I guess I missed the actual city part of it which just confuses me. Nashua is 100% the airport town that lives outside Manchester Airport. The sights of the town are nice. A blend of city and then a blend of areas feeling like Silent Hill with just more people and less fog. With that said, the biggest eye sore is the people. Idk what the hell is in the drinking water of Nashua but the people can be a work of art and a scary one. A mix of the people who have lost there way with drugs, the very impatient blue collar workers, The different communities like the Indian community. But then the people that go on about not being a state tax and buy a Tesla or Cybertruck. This town is 100% the wild west when it comes to people and the thought that some articles have stated Nashua to be the 4th safest city in NH, I call bullshit. Working in the local Shaws on March 3rd 2021 and having a mentally unstable man come to my line and hand a paper that he was robbing my register and alluding he had a gun while I spent the rest of my shift going to the police and making statements, yeah 4th safest my ass. Better places out there, this is definitely not the little nook to hide from the world.

I had just returned from Vietnam and went to a dance in Portsmouth. Although the people there were probably my same age, I was angry and felt like an outcast who was about to leave. A girl asked me to dance. Then she told me where to sit. Then she told me when to go eat and drink. She still bosses me around. We got married in 1976 and have children and grandchildren. Thank you, NH.

Internet is important but I pay the most attention to the availability of natural gas. The cost of heating one of those northern properties with oil, propane or electric would make property taxes look reasonable!

I can tell you probably did just research and read some stuff. I live in New Hampshire. My whole life, it gets way less no than it ever did. And it may snow, but it melts usually especially in the southern part of the state. In motorcycle riding, I'm an avid biker. You may not be able to ride year round, but it has some of the best motorcycle riding in the country. Especially in the fall for foliage, the lakes, our plentiful. There's so many lakes around every corner. The people are generally very nice. Maybe you should actually come here and visit. It's one of the best states live in and people are moving here at a high rate, and it does have a little bit of higher taxes and that also depends on where you live where I live. My house is assessed at $450000. My taxes are about $2800 a year. You might want to do more research

Lots of flooding! Roads often washed out, often. Happens at least every year, especially in Spring, with snow melt on the mountains, flooding the valley areas.

High property taxes may be a negative to some and a positive to others. High property taxes, in the absence of a lack of income and sales taxes is that you can choose how much you want to pay in taxes. If you want low taxes, live in a town with low rates and live in a property that's at the lower end of what homes are worth. In an absurd place, you could earn $1 million a year and own a $100,000 condo and pay $1,300 a year in property taxes. So your net rate of taxes on your income would be 0.13%.

I think the most dangerous places in NH are plces where there's street people camps( not part of political campaigns or safett awareness campaigns. Any place wild animals regularly visit ( like black bears, coyotes, other) and anywhere there's humans with guns powerful enough to kill coyotes, bears , and etcetera. The drug death problem, by reports ( I don't smoke or drink), seems much handled. And don't see too many reports of parental murder of their kids.

Zillow is notoriously inaccurate with some details. It's always wise to reach out to a local realtor to get a copy of the real listing. When in doubt about the accuracy of property assessment, boundaries, acreage, restrictions, I would reach out to the local assessor or town clerk for more reliable information.

I LOVE living in New Hampshire, and I love the state. Born and raised in East Cambridge/Somerville/Charlestown, Massachusetts, essentially Boston. I moved here [Nashua] at 16 years old with my parents back in April of 2000 and went through my high school years up here. Im now 40, still in Nashua, NH, and wouldn't want to live in any other state. Although, my ideal living situation would be a downtown Portsmouth, NH apartment right where all the action is near the harbor. Would love that! Only issue is that everything is expensive as hell in this state! Although, I suppose everywhere is right now, too. But down south it's so much cheaper! Housing cost less than half what it does here. But you don't get the diverse weather and beautiful scenery down there like we do up here!

My question is how are these calculated. Do they include shop lifting in towns with large commercial districts. Shoplifting frequently occurs. If these crimes are included I think it skews the overall risk of dangerous crime in any given town. These crimes are serious in a financial sense but don’t think they cause the level of risk to people that break ins or assault do.

Lived in Keene in the 1950's. Loved it as a kid. KSC was Keene Teacher's College then. Lived across from the college in an apartment on Winchester St. Then moved to Edgewood. As a kid I loved the brutal winters; no snow days even when the temperature was -20F. We were told that Keene had the widest paved main street in the US; don't know if that's still true. Even though I only lived there seven (7) years, I still consider Keene my home town.
