A few of us have also noticed that our health IMPROVES when in Mexico, just naturally 😮. I have noticed (over the years) that my skin will clear (when I was younger), my weight would drop, my digestion improves, and many other things like that! I am not sure the exact reason why. But I THINK it may be a combination of better quality foods, and lower stress. 🤔

I retired 18 months ago and moved to my beach house way down the Baja peninsula. When I return to the USA for whatever reason, what I absolutely hate is the commercialism and the drive to "keep up" with everyone else. In Mexico I drive my crappy little car and NO ONE cares. NO ONE gives me a second look as if I'm some poor dirty person in my crappy little car. I can easily afford more, but why? Just keep building up the savings account instead of wasting the money on a new car, like seemingly every person in the USA. I go north for a visit and CAN NOT WAIT to drive south again. The simple life is simply better. Speaking of dogs, I have two. One had an ugly growth on the side of his head. He is older and I was always concerned about him going for surgery. My local vet in the USA wanted $1,500 during Covid. I procrastinated and eventually took him to the local Mexican vet after I retired and moved. The cost? 1,200 pesos. About $75 US at the time. She used the perfect amount of drugs as Cody woke up almost immediately after the operation. It was perfect. Viva Mexico!

​@Jillloveszumba Mexico is very conservative and not interested in woke culture issues. Mexicans are happy and grateful people who have strong family values and believe in the right to life. They don't waste their energy and emotions on social justice issues. They're simply living and enjoying life. You might be better suited staying where you are and doing some research to understand that your daughter has not lost any rights since the election. If she chooses to unalive her baby in the womb, as a form of birth control, all blue states allow you the freedom to do that. The other states may have reasonable limitations, based on gestational period, but nothing has really changed. For starters, stop watching legacy media. They're filling your head with propaganda and lies. Watch real people providing real life information like this lovely channel. Stop making everything about politics and social justice. Go out and live life. Appreciate the many freedoms and opportunities that you have. Stop being angry, creating social issues, living in fear and passing those negative traits to your daughter. Live FREE!...don't bring that negativity to Mexico.

Hi Mora, I’m glad to see you are doing better physically. I’m also happy for you for building your own community of friends. A topic you brought up about grocery stores and tipping that I feel so many visitors are not aware of is that the people bagging your groceries in many of the big box stores do not get paid from the stores. They are able to help you bag your groceries as a courtesy. So tipping them is helping them economically. A small token of “giving back to the community” 5-10 pesos and maybe an extra 5-10 if you would like them to help you bring it to your car. And don’t forget to give them a smile 😊

FYI, you can download Google maps to use offline so you can still navigate without cell service. Personally, I use Sygic which has found businesses, etc. that Google and others could not. There is an annual fee for Sygic though.

I caught your channel a few episodes back and you were mentioning Abraham the vet in La Manzanilla. We had just adopted two dogs from the refuge in La Manz and were well aquainted with Abraham. Now, you are in Patzcuaro, one of my favourite towns. Sad that while you were on Janitzio you did not go inside the statue of Morelos. It has a circular ramp that climbs to the top and the walls are painted with depictions of Mexican history. Very moving. Very colourful. I hope you are planning on seeing the overwintering of the Monarch butterflies. I have been to three of the sites and found Siera Chincua the least touristy and inspiring. Do not miss Santa Clara de Cobre -- it is only about 15 miles away. And Tlalpujahua for the Christmas ornaments. All the best with your travels.

Even though it was decades ago ,I still remember the details & awful feelings to this day !! I still regret / blame myself as it could had been avoided ( a long story )& such a painful slow death should had been prevented ! Driver behind me ( a mean female post office worker ) rushed me .I thought she'd yell at me & argue with me that I was crazy to stop my car in the middle of a street for a lizard ( mid size ) !! So,I restarted to driving & accidentally ran over her ( him )!! I thought it was safe ! Yes we tske simple, beautiful things for granted in our lives as they seem to be small ,normal / ordinary !! I loved the scene of you & your doggies running around in the woods (?)!! One of 'em looks like you even !!( the eyes ! ) I've seen this often !! Lol. Like married couples start looking like each other ,so many dogs look similar to their human companions !! Lol I believe it's because they spend a lot time looking at their humans !! Nice video. I'm a retiree and resident of MX and I found the biggest hurdle has become health insurance. It has tripled over the last few years. For us Canadians with "free" heath care system, paying like $3,000 or $5000 USD per year with a high deductible is becoming a show stopper.

Have watched many different US immigrants in México videos. Ive lived in México City since 2021. You really capture and describe how things work here. Have been to consultorio médicos a lot. Have gotten antibiotics for colds infections. For me Mexican culture is better more straight forward. User friendly. Ill look forward to more videos

Thank you! User friendly is right. Do they do other things at the cnnsultorio medicos? Like treat patients or emergencies? All of these things being easier in Mexico make the whole experience of living feel lighter!

Another great video...your series is very informative as I prepare for relocation to Mexico. Thank you! I'm presently living in Panama and many use Waze, in addition to Google maps. One great Waze feature is seeing reported police locations (notice of speed radar)

Now when I’ am retired I could visit the country but the problem is my disease Multipler Myeloma so it Will make things more complicated. Do you need to be carrying cash all the time? To pay rent, utilities, etc? No checks or cards? People are not concerned about that being a safety problem? How do you feel about that? (We will be moving down there soon)

I carry minimum cash when I'm out and about. Many restaurants and stores take cards in bigger towns. I use common sense and take precautions but I haven't felt at risk. Venmo and PayPal are some options some people use.
