lived in my car for 3 years. I usually kept everything in my trunk so I had more space in the cab. I would mostly sleep in Walmart parking lots where the semi trucks would park. tried to sleep in the front seat once and woke up with my feet and ankles so swollen it was painful. never again. I had the hardest time trying to sleep in a bed after that. I slept better on my couch. after a while I finally ventured back to a bed. I hope I never have to go back to living in my car again but it definitely made me stronger and more appreciative of the minor things people take for granted. good luck to you.

@@ahmedmushtaq3814 You can make window covers with reflectix and a dark fabric facing the outside on all windows. You can also use perforated vinyl on the rear windows and rear winshield and a windshield reflectix in the front. Stay in places like walmart, truck stops, hospitals, hotels and your good to go. its not fun or safe. I've been there. trying to find a place to sleep without police or sheriffs hassling you and running you off, not being able to cook or heat up food you had to get from the food pantry, having to use baby wipes to clean yourself, or the embarrassment of going into a gas station restroom with a bag of clothes and hygiene gear and coming out with wet hair and different clothes on. asking gas station attendant's to use their microwave to heat up food you brought with you. having to explain your self to police or management of the businesses where your trying to sleep or use their facilities. its not fun at all. you don't run around bragging about it to anyone, let alone making KZbin channel's. you also don't have brand new, name brand, expensive items laying around your car while your playing around on your expensive phone with your new phone holder. none of this is what you see if someone is honestly HOMELESS. she's choosing/scamming everyone for money and attention. smh. she wouldn't be so perky about it if she didn't have a choice and all her brand name luxuries.

MadRobot_Malfunction I’ve slept in my car for 2 weeks until I found a room for rent I’m a school bus driver and didn’t make enough to rent a 2 bedroom which I needed because I have a son even tried to do efficiency to 1 bedroom but in jersey even that is steep I would have to get another job and that would be just to make ends meet not to save . I sent my son to live with his father until I became stable . Keep in mind his father is in a relationship as well so his survival chance with my son was doable . On my end it’s just me . While living in my car I was very scared at night in the city because of crime . It was no way in shape or form safe but I did it for two weeks . Like this woman I would go to well lit gas stations and truck stops for needs such as hygiene and food and gas . Most times I’d park in the suburbs or outskirts of the city where it was safer I never got a goods night rest tho . I did have my dog with me as well he helped me through most of my nights but I couldn’t help to think that this had to be animal neglect we had everything we needed and he protected me but a car was no place for us both especially in the city and especially at night . Nobody at work knew sometimes I’d sneak into the bus yard and sleep on my schoolbus if they saw me on camera they never said anything to me about it . I like the fact that she is upbeat and has a positive attitude it’s not so bad when you’re by yourself but when you have a child and pet the anxiety and sense of failure you feel as well as just surviving is overwhelming at times .. the struggle doesn’t last forever but it is definitely real and can happen to anyone . Living proof

Hospitals are good places to sleep. If you park near the back where most of the employees park. They usually put their sun visor shield up and you can tell they will be parked there for awhile. Parking in that proximity will keep you safe. It’s good to be in a lot that has some cars but not a lot. And also helps if there are trees and such. But my job has me running to drop off at hospitals and that’s how I know it’s a safe place. I’ve now tried this out at several hospitals. It’s better tho if the hospital has a lot of parking lot.

She can afford an apartment, so buying expensive skincare is her prerogative. Beside spending $70 on a skincare product every 3-6 months is definitely not affecting her lifestyle. That averages to around $25 per month. Saving that is definitely not going to affect whether or not she has an apartment if she cannot afford it. She might as well care for herself while she can considering the $25-$30 per month won’t do anything for her. Saying that purchasing drunk elephant skincare products affect whether or not she lives in her car is asinine. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

The loneliness is def one of the tougher things about living in a car. Ive been living in mine for 1 1/2 years. But i love not being stressed about the ever soaring rent. Just make sure to get out from time to time where there are people and you wont feel as alone. Take walks outside. Ive learned that staying caged up inside the car vs going outside of your car, even if I'm alone has a huge impact on my sanity. Humans like communication... So if you can, call friends from time to time and talk, laugh, joke around.. You'll feel rejuvinated mentally and emotionally. Also I find that watching funny KZbin videos helps curb depression enough to keep me going, endorphins and whatnot. Maybe do a live stream on youtube and chat with some of us in similar situations. Its not the best situation, but taking what we can get definitely makes the difference as opposed to just sitting in the car 100% unfulfilled. Hope this helps 👍

Life would be so much better if we didn't need cars, the insurance, maintenance, gas, accidents, parking, the list of hassles is long. Hillary Clinton wouldn't be wrecking the country like Trump is now would she? See the gas prices? Just the tip, next your internet will be taken away. It's like some people forgot the recession Bush and Republicans put us in the last time forcing people to live in their cars.

The real question: Is it cheaper to live in a car w/o paying bills but spending more on gas, food, and a really good phone plan to have data all the time plus the inconvenience of finding places to do regular stuff than renting and cooking everything, $10 ethernet plan, and riding your bike everywhere?
@TikkaHorse6 жыл бұрын
I think a big factor is getting approved to rent. Even if it is cheaper, if you don't have good credit or don't meet their income to rent ratio, you won't be rented to no matter how much cheaper it might be than alternative living situations. My place requires 3x income than rent.
@rebeccaabrams30796 жыл бұрын
Seriously - my mom had to get a friend of hers to co-sign on our apartment because she "doesn't make enough to qualify". But, she budgets money and in the two and a half years we've lived in the apartment she's never once been late on rent.
@kairilaicreampuffs6 жыл бұрын
It's more then likely cheaper if you consider this : 1: no rent 2: she stated she gets great gas mileage on her car (And would be even cheaper if she didn't travel at all) 3: she probably doesn't cook she probably buys her food since she eats organic stuff. I'm sure she budgets food. 4: she more then likely goes to McDonald's to use WiFi so no need to pay for extra internet when 90% of stores and places nowadays have free WiFi lol

I find the best way to sleep in a car is with an airbed on the seat, a duvet pillow and earplugs and possibly a t shirt over the eyes if it's light or there are street lights. This worked even when I had a painful butt swelling/blister injury, although I only had a bin bag for my eyes which got sweaty and I woke up after the first cycle at 8:30am instead of 10:00am which was what I wanted to pick up my friend in the morning. I tried a camping mat on the seat and I didn't have a duvet when I got lost in birmingham and needed to wait for the shops to open again to buy a Sat Nav. I found parking that was unlimited from 7pm to 7am but got insomnia as in 3-4 hours lying there with my eyes closed checking the time every hour, then a dream about some groovy bass lines, then another two hours lying there and a bit more sleep before my alarm went off at 7:30 am just in case I went over parking. This was after only sleeping 6am to 9am the night before due to the night shift. So yeah get an airbed. Also the car got quite cold in the wee hours, and it's didn't help that people were using the dual lane road in droves even at 2-3 o'clock in the morning! I saw some guy on youtube camper-ize his car with a slide out bed. He needed to remove the back seats though.
