I was starting to lose it in the Hyundai before the wreck... Thanks for the videos and inspiration Jake! I didn't do it alone! Will def buy some merch when I'm setup!
@gabrielort35312 жыл бұрын
You mentioned a wreck and that's what ended my "car life". Somebody (probably texting) rear ended me real bad and car was totaled. To be honest I have not done "streets", but hats off to those who have had to do it (or might've even liked doing it!).
@kirkjordan87182 жыл бұрын
@@gabrielort3531 it's rough and I honestly wouldn't have survived without a few friends helping out. It's just I don't like feeling dependent on people. I haven't spent every night at a friend's but when it snows or something... You can find shelter pretty easy at Union Station where the train tunnels are. You can go to shelters. The thing about shelters is that if you're actually trying to build a respectable future then your kind of like David in the Lion's Den. I don't think those are healthy places. I was t-boned because I was turning left onto the highway not knowing where I was at. The other dudes airbags went off but the car was still drivable and mine wasn't. I don't think my airvags deployed because I had taken the passenger seat out and built a bed like Jake's in the Acura. He took off at first and then held me at gun point after circling back. And then he drove away after telling me he was doing me a favor before the cops got there. I didn't know what to do. Family isn't buying the story because it seems far fetched but it is what happened. Dude was driving a white stolen grand am with New Mexico plates. And the truth is I actually caused the accident accepting a doordash order and then unassigned it after merging without looking...but he took off so I blamed it on him to get me covered in insurance... The driver was never caught but the vehicle was found and reported stolen according to Brighton, CO police a few weeks later. I wanted to start a youtube being homeless with car life and it would have been the only way to actually verify my story. I didn't get the dash cam A] because I was still getting high and couldn't broadcast it and B] because ultimately I didn't want to knock off Jake. And C] nobody would want to watch my demeanor at the time. But for verification of the accident and a general confidence booster to prove to myself that it wouldn't have been far-fetched that I could put out good content I wish I would have had the dash cam even though it would have cost me coverage of my vehicle. I'd be lying if I said I was clean and sober since then... but the truth is I did pick up some trespassing charges living how I was and am on probation... so I am 66 days sober and just passed my first drug test the other day. But that means if it took 66 days to clean my system of pot then that means I probably haven't been sober sober since highschool. I think in the end marijuana might be worse than other drugs, but it is sort of a pick your favor of kool-aid. God has a plan for everything. When held up at gun point I told the guy to pull the trigger. I didn't care anymore. And for a while I was in and out of the hospital too. At times unlikely people have saved me. I could have made it worse by reconnecting with the wrong people. I don't think the shelters would have offered any help build successful goals or habits. And it was really fucking hard to find employment with pending charges on my background and the fact that I was doing every interview as if it was the movie The Pursuit of Happiness as a homeless guy unable to dress the part. Eventually my phone was shut off and I had to try to find a job without that too. It took a long time but friends would help when I came by and random people have saved the day. And I've debated killing myself but if that dude didn't pull the trigger in the middle of no-where Brighton, CO then God still has a plan for me. It's something that I wish was documented but at the same time everything happened so fast even with the dash cam and other stuff... Assuming they were purchased and I was sober 100% of the time... That probably would have meant that I wouldn't have had those either. I was unable to recover anything from the vehicle because insurance sold it off for parts to fast for me to get to it. It's a mess that I caused due to shooting myself in the foot for 17 years straight. And I'm lucky as hell to still have a few things. And I can't go back to those things ever again. The bridges to those relationships are burned and won't be rebuilt. And the only ones I care about will eventually heal and be a little better than they are today but may never be the same.
